Grassroots health workers hope for appropriate treatment
One of the issues raised before the congress was the treatment regime for health workers, especially at the grassroots level, in remote areas.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuc - Member of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the Medical Center (TTYT), Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of Thanh An Medical Center - said that the labor intensity of medical staff is currently very high, the toxic environment and the risk of disease transmission are always present. However, the on-call regime for grassroots health care is too low.
Citing specific evidence, Ms. Thuc pointed out that the on-call fee for the Commune Health Station line is only 25,000 VND/day; at the Medical Center is 65,000 VND/day.
"I hope that the Provincial Trade Union Congress this time will propose to the competent authority to soon adjust the increase in on-duty allowance. At the same time, consider reducing the retirement age appropriately for doctors directly working in the profession; soon apply the seniority allowance regime like the education sector to help workers feel secure in their work" - Ms. Thuc suggested.
In addition, the story of " union member welfare" is also of particular interest to the business sector. Ms. Ha Thi Nha Trang - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Hoa Ba Education and Trade Service Company Limited - said that in the new term, welfare programs need to be innovated to "touch" the needs of workers.
According to Ms. Trang, union members expect direct support activities such as: Periodic health care, essential shopping incentives, housing support and social security packages during Tet.
When the rights and voice of workers are guaranteed, the trust in the Trade Union will become increasingly strong. I hope the Provincial Trade Union will continue to proactively accompany businesses to harmonize benefits, improve labor productivity, and contribute to building truly harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations" - Ms. Trang said.
Developing union members is an important goal
Determining that the work of developing union members is an important goal and task of "survival" significance for the Trade Union organization, Ms. Tran Thi Lan Huong - Chairwoman of the Muong Thanh Ward Trade Union hopes that the 13th Congress will provide specific solutions, suitable to the new situation.
According to Ms. Huong, to create trust from employers and attract workers, the Trade Union organization needs to have a more effective way of surveying and grasping the business situation.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Mai - Chairman of Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union - said that in the 2025-2030 term, the Provincial Trade Union needs to increase skills training, create a support mechanism for commune union officials to truly become a core of solidarity, an inspiration and a bridge closely linked with union members and workers.

Accordingly, in the coming term, the Trade Union will focus on strengthening supervision and dialogue to ensure wages and working conditions; at the same time, building a team of workers with political courage and labor discipline.
