Joining hands to build a safe and sustainable working environment
At Binh Dien - Quang Tri Joint Stock Company, a unit specializing in fertilizer production, occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) is identified as a top priority task. With more than 150 employees working, the company always links this work with the production and business plan to prevent incidents, protect the health and lives of employees.
According to Mr. Nguyen Toan, Chairman of the company's Trade Union, at the beginning of the year, the trade union coordinates with leaders to develop a plan for occupational safety and health, fire prevention and fighting and complete working regulations in accordance with each equipment and area. Warning signs and safe operation processes are arranged in easy-to-see locations to raise awareness and risk prevention skills for workers.
In particular, the company has arranged occupational safety and hygiene committees and a network of occupational safety and hygiene workers in all departments, regularly checking and urging compliance with regulations, and correctly and fully using labor protection equipment. 100% of employees at the company receive periodic health check-ups, thereby helping to detect early and prevent the risk of occupational diseases.
Not only at enterprises, OSH work in the province has been implemented synchronously with the active participation of the Labor Federation of Quang Tri province. Every year, the provincial Labor Federation coordinates to organize inspection and supervision from 80 - 100 enterprises, detect and promptly handle violations. At the same time, the Trade Union actively commented and participated in the development of the laws and policies on OSH, in order to complete the legal corridor and protect the rights of employees.
Spreading the emulation movement to ensure labor safety
Along with that, the Trade Unions at all levels of Quang Tri province have promoted the dissemination of knowledge and legal policies on occupational safety and health through many forms such as: Organizing training classes, building "Work protection corners", the model "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health",,... Focus on high-risk occupations such as construction, stone mining, garment, mechanics, etc.
In particular, the mass emulation movement for occupational safety and health work and key models were widely launched on the occasion of Workers' Month and occupational safety and health Action Month. Thereby contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of both employers and employees in accident prevention, health protection and property protection.
Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in the past time, there have been 76 topics and initiatives on technical innovation, rationalization of production and improvement of the working environment implemented by trade unions at all levels in the province. These initiatives not only improve production efficiency but also contribute to preventing risks and occupational accidents, improving working conditions for employees.
The proactiveness, creativity and responsible companionship of the Trade Union organization has contributed to creating a safe and humane working environment, a foundation for businesses to develop sustainably and workers to feel secure in their long-term commitment and dedication.
