Towards the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026) and the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026), the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organizes a series of practical activities to show gratitude to previous generations; recognize and honor contributions to the cause of building the Trade Union organization.
Gratitude to those who have contributed
At the Pleiku Prison Historical Relic (Dien Hong ward), officials and union members offered incense and respectfully remembered heroic martyrs and those who contributed and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Pleiku Prison is a historical witness, proof of the steadfast and indomitable revolutionary fighting spirit of our army and people in the years of national independence. The sacrifices and contributions of previous generations are forever a bright symbol of revolutionary heroism, a motivation for today's generations to continue to learn and follow.
At the incense offering ceremony, Mr. Ha Duy Trung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Confederation of Labour - said that the activity not only expresses deep gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland but is also an opportunity for Trade Union officials, union members, and workers (ĐV, NLĐ) to review the glorious tradition of the nation, educate the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", foster patriotism and aspiration to contribute to the cause of building and developing the homeland and country.
Towards the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, each Trade Union official needs to deeply understand the responsibility of inheriting and promoting the revolutionary tradition of the nation; continue to propagate and educate union members and workers about the revolutionary tradition, the great contributions of heroic martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution," Mr. Ha Duy Trung emphasized.
Continuing the 97-year journey
Continuing the series of activities, the Provincial Trade Union organized a program to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union and awarded the Medal "For the cause of building the Vietnam Trade Union organization" to 16 typical individuals.
This is a noble reward of the Trade Union organization, recognizing the persistent, responsible and dedicated contributions to the workers' movement and Trade Union activities.
At the same time, it is an opportunity to review the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union, express gratitude to generations of Trade Union officials who have made many contributions, and arouse pride, sense of responsibility and determination of the team of Trade Union officials in the new development stage.
Throughout 97 years of construction and development, the Vietnam Trade Union has always maintained its role as a large socio-political organization of the working class and laborers, a solid bridge between the Party and union members and laborers in all revolutionary stages.
Although there are still many difficulties, especially in the process of arranging the organizational structure and consolidating the operating model, the provincial Trade Union levels are still constantly innovating the content and methods of operation; strongly focusing on grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center.
Trade union levels have synchronously deployed many activities to care for, represent, and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; effectively organized patriotic emulation movements, cultural, sports and social security activities.
To date, the whole province has 891 grassroots trade unions with 79,388 members out of a total of 87,886 workers, civil servants, and laborers. This is an important force contributing to the implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals.
According to Mr. Ha Duy Trung, in the coming time, Trade Union activities face many opportunities but also many challenges. He proposed that each Trade Union official should continue to promote the 97-year glorious tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union; constantly learn, train, improve their qualifications, political bravery and working skills; innovate thinking and operating methods; be close to union members, stick to the grassroots level and take union members and workers as the center of all activities.
I believe that, with the tradition of solidarity, innovation, responsibility and aspiration to contribute, the team of provincial Trade Union officials will continue to excellently complete the assigned tasks, build an increasingly strong Trade Union organization, and make positive contributions to the sustainable development of the province and the country," Mr. Ha Duy Trung expressed.
In the series of commemorative activities, the Provincial Trade Union also organized the "Song of Trade Union Officials" art competition and the 2026 Sports Festival of full-time Trade Union Officials, creating a playground for exchange, strengthening solidarity, and connecting the team of officials, union members, and workers.
