On July 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province launched the Provincial Logo Design Contest to find a symbol capable of telling stories about Gia Lai's land and people in artistic language, identity and aspirations for development, representing the image of the province in the coming time.
The selected logo will be the official symbol of Gia Lai province, used in foreign affairs activities, investment promotion, tourism development, serving the political, socio-economic tasks of the locality.

Therefore, entries need to show typical and distinctive characteristics of the land, people and potential of Gia Lai province in a modern, general and highly aesthetic direction.
Launching the contest, Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest - emphasized the viewpoint: "Taking the artistic quality, symbolic nature, practicality and consensus of the People as the highest measure for the success of the contest".
According to Ms. Hanh, the Organizing Committee wishes to select typical works that ensure standard shaping, have timeless aesthetic value and high generalization. The province's symbol must both reflect the depth of tradition and express the aspiration to rise up of a modern, green, sustainable development and international integration city.

The strength of a symbol is not only in the sophistication of the strokes, but in the soul and vitality that the creators put into it," Ms. Hanh said.
According to Ms. Hanh, the chosen symbol must simultaneously meet the requirements of design thinking and applicability. The design needs to be general and modern, avoiding direct description or forced assemblage of local characteristic images; and at the same time harmoniously showing the connection between the plateau and the coast, between tradition and modernity.
In addition, the work must have a solemn layout, easy to recognize in many sizes, display well on digital platforms and different materials, effectively meeting the requirements for use in political, economic, foreign affairs, investment promotion, tourism promotion and international exchange activities.
We will organize the contest seriously, objectively, publicly, transparently, in accordance with regulations, ensuring the selection of truly excellent works, with long-term value and worthy of becoming the official symbol of Gia Lai province," Ms. Hanh affirmed.
Ms. Hanh called on designers, painters, architects, lecturers, art students, artists inside and outside the province and a large number of people to spend time, intelligence, talent and above all love for Gia Lai to create excellent works. Thereby, contributing to building a symbol of artistic value, expressing the identity and aspirations for development of the province.
