Focus on the grassroots
In 2024, the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in Thanh Hoa province will have many advantages.
Thanh Hoa province's economy continues to grow, ranking second in the country; investment promotion and business development continue to be promoted; many businesses continue to expand investment, creating more jobs and income for workers.
Under the leadership and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Party Committee, the Trade Unions at all levels in the province have closely coordinated with the government, departments, and organizations at the same level, been creative and flexible in propaganda and mobilization work, cared for people's lives, organized patriotic emulation movements to create breakthroughs in implementing the goals and tasks of the Trade Union organization, making an important contribution to implementing the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, stabilizing security and order, social safety, and building a strong political system in the whole province.
As of December 10, 2024, the whole province has 370,460 union members/375,910 employees (an increase of 28,311 union members compared to the same period in 2023); the rate of gathering and attracting employees is 98.5%. Total number of grassroots unions: 3,848 units. Of which, the grassroots unions of the public service sector are 2,876; the grassroots unions of the production and business sector are 926; and the grassroots unions (NDCS) are 46.
Average income in the administrative sector is 7,670,000 VND/person/month; in the state-owned enterprise sector, 5,936,000 VND/person/month; in the FDI enterprise sector, 6,761,000 VND/person/month; in the private enterprise sector, 5,830,000 VND/person/month.
Activities to care for union members and workers focus on the grassroots level, mobilizing resources to promote activities to care for and support union members and workers to stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
Trade unions at all levels, agencies, units and enterprises organized visits and gave gifts to 340,074 union members and employees with a total amount of 318.1 billion VND (95.6 billion VND more than in 2023).
Exceeded union member development target
Increased by 28,311/27,000 union members; established 97 new grassroots unions, 46/03 grassroots unions, exceeding the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Promote and diversify Trade Union communication activities; coordinate with the Provincial Radio and Television Station, central and local news agencies and newspapers to produce 14 reports and 54 news articles on Thanh Hoa Trade Union activities.
The Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the launching ceremony of "Workers' Month", "Month of action on occupational safety and hygiene"; 33/35 Trade Unions directly at the grassroots level and 3,288/3,744 Trade Unions at grassroots level organized activities in response to "Workers' Month", "Month of action on occupational safety and hygiene" with many meaningful and practical activities with the participation of the entire political system, business community and society.
As a result of emulation movements organized by the Trade Union, many groups and individuals have had typical models, good initiatives, and outstanding achievements that have been commended at all levels.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the Creative Labor Certificate to 34 individuals, the Emulation Flag to 6 collectives, and Certificates of Merit to 6 collectives and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and building the Trade Union organization in the 2023-2024 school year. The whole province has 5,099 people achieving the title of "Grassroots Emulation Fighter"; 9,135 initiatives were recognized with a value of 1,520 million VND and 151 works and products were recognized with a value of 8,264 million VND.
Results: 32/32 targets were completed and exceeded (17 targets exceeded the plan); 12/12 targets assigned by the General Confederation of Labor were achieved and exceeded the plan (11 targets exceeded the plan); some targets achieved outstanding results: Developing union members, establishing grassroots unions and trade unions; dialogue; negotiating and signing the Collective Labor Agreement; introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission; collecting union finances.
In 2024, Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for its outstanding achievements in developing union members, establishing grassroots unions in 2024 and awarded the Emulation Flag for the excellent unit leading the emulation movement of workers and trade unions and trade union activities in 2024.
