Kumquats hit the streets early, prices higher than every year due to scarcity

This trader also said that for miniature kumquat trees, the price will range from 150,000 - 450,000 VND/pot.

Meanwhile, larger kumquat varieties are sold in large quantities in the areas of Duong Dinh Nghe Street (Cau Giay) and Pham Hung Street (Nam Tu Liem).

Mr. Manh Quan - a tree seller here said: "The ornamental kumquat varieties of Tu Lien (Hanoi) this year will be more expensive than every year because of the crop failure caused by storm No. 3. There are not many kumquats, so the price imported from the garden is also higher than every year. Currently, these kumquat varieties fluctuate between 1-2 million VND depending on the size. The trees with higher value will depend on the time, the shape of the tree, the number of buds and fruits of the tree".

Many traders here also predict that this year, kumquat varieties in Hung Yen will attract more buyers because of their beautiful designs and prices that are not too different from Tu Lien kumquat varieties.

Choosing to buy trees early, Ms. Le Thi Lien (Dong Da) said: "This year's ornamental trees are quite diverse but the quantity is not as much as every year. Although buying trees early will cost more, I have more choices of designs and styles. I prioritize choosing the miniature kumquat tree with a unique design and reasonable price because it is suitable for the area used in the family."
