On January 8, the Government Inspectorate announced a Decision on inspecting land management and use and the management of exploration, survey, planning, licensing, exploitation and transportation of construction material mines at the People's Committee of Cao Bang province.
Deputy Inspector General of the Government Duong Quoc Huy chaired the announcement of the Inspection Decision. Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach, representatives of the Provincial Inspectorate and departments and branches also attended the announcement of the decision.
According to the decision, the inspection period is the land management and use work from 2015 to June 2024 and the management of exploration, survey, planning, licensing, exploitation and transportation of construction material mines from 2019 to June 2024. If necessary, it can be considered before or after the above period.
The inspection period is 60 actual working days from the date of announcement of the Decision.
The inspection team consists of 8 members, led by Mr. Nguyen Viet Thach, Deputy Director of Department I, Government Inspectorate.
Mr. Hoang Van Thach - Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee - affirmed that he will strictly implement the decisions of the Government Inspector General and direct the provincial departments and branches to closely coordinate with the Inspection Team during the entire inspection process in the locality, providing complete records and documents as required by the Inspection Team.
Notably, the Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Government Inspectorate postpone the direct inspection time at the Provincial People's Committee until after the Lunar New Year holiday to prepare for Tet carefully and safely for the people, as well as prepare reports and documents to provide to the Inspection Team in full.
Speaking at the announcement of the inspection decision, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Duong Quoc Huy said that this was a planned inspection.
Through inspection, the aim is to detect difficulties and inadequacies in legal policies and mechanisms in land management and use, and in the management of exploration, survey, planning, licensing of exploitation and transportation of construction material mines to make recommendations to competent authorities for remediation.
At the same time, inspection activities also detect advantages, limitations and shortcomings in public management in order to take measures to improve effectiveness and efficiency, rectify and strictly handle violations and protect the interests of the State, the rights and legitimate interests of agencies, organizations and individuals.
Regarding the request of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province to postpone the inspection time, Deputy Inspector General Duong Quoc Huy directed the Inspection Team to receive all opinions and report to the Government Inspector General to implement in accordance with the provisions of law.
