Since 2013, the Suwon Provincial Trade Union Federation (now Suwon City) and the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation (now Hai Phong City) have signed a memorandum of understanding. The two sides agreed to establish bilateral relations to enhance solidarity, friendship, exchange, cooperation and enhance mutual understanding between workers and union members between the two organizations.
The morning talks of December 3 were one of the main activities during the working trip to Hai Phong City from December 2 to 6 of the Suwon City Trade Union Federation.
At the program, representatives of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation informed about the organization and operation of the City Labor Union after the merger as well as the outstanding innovations of the Hai Phong City Labor Union. In which, it emphasized a number of new models and methods of the City Labor Federation that have been and are being implemented, bringing high efficiency, highly appreciated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the trade unions of other provinces. We must mention the safe and civilized Boarding House model; the Trade Union Physical Training Point model or most recently the Socialist Grassroots Trade Union model (the pioneering model of the whole country).

The City Labor Federation also emphasized the contributions of Korean enterprises to socio-economic development and job creation for workers. Specifically, Hai Phong has more than 150 Korean enterprises, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers. LG Group's enterprises alone create jobs for about 27,000 employees... Enterprises closely coordinate with the City Trade Union in implementing labor law policies such as welfare care, dialogue, occupational safety training as well as organizing activities to improve spiritual life...
Delegates also exchanged, discussed and shared experiences related to a number of contents such as regional minimum wage, working hours, negotiation of collective labor agreements, and criteria for evaluating the quality of collective labor agreements. Along with that, exchanging experiences in managing and effectively using trade union financial resources; preventing and combating social evils, black credit, high-tech crimes affecting the lives of workers and laborers...
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet, Permanent Vice President of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, thanked the Suwon City Labor Union for its attention. At the same time, it is hoped that the information exchanged and shared at today's conference will be concretized through actions and policies that benefit workers. The two units will continue to expand exchange activities, learn experiences and cooperate long-term in the coming time.
