To date, the Can Tho City Labor Federation has 892 grassroots unions (CDCS) with a total of 138,855 union members. This figure shows a significant expansion in the scope of activities and responsibilities of the City Labor Federation in representing a strong labor force.
Accordingly, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, holds the position of Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation. The Vice Chairmen include: Mr. Le Cong Khanh, Ms. Tran Ngoc My and Ms. Tran Tu Nhien.
The organization and rearrangement of the staff is also aimed at streamlining the apparatus but also aimed at improving the quality of the staff, ensuring that each position is taken up by individuals with solid expertise and a high sense of responsibility.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, said that after the arrangement, Trade Union officials at all levels have quickly stabilized their organization and started working with a vibrant and positive spirit.
In the coming time, the Can Tho City Labor Federation is facing many opportunities and challenges after the process of merging and reorganizing. With expanded management areas, along with the increase in the number of union members and workers (DV, NLD), the City Labor Federation must have a strategic operational orientation, focusing on DV, NLD, with effective and feasible solutions.
The top priority task is to improve the quality of representation, protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees. To do that, the City Labor Federation will continue to innovate its methods of operation, increase periodic dialogue and collective bargaining with employers. At the same time, taking care of the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers will be implemented by the City Labor Federation with practical support programs such as Trade Union Shelter, giving gifts, scholarships, etc.
The City Labor Federation will develop clear emulation criteria, suitable for each member, employee and union cadre, encourage creativity and innovation in work, at the same time, commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, creating strong motivation to improve productivity, quality and work efficiency. Skills competitions, initiative competitions, technical improvement and healthy competitive cultural and sports activities will be considered by the Labor Federation, in accordance with actual conditions.
For the goal of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, the City Labor Federation will promote propaganda and mobilization work through diverse communication campaigns, using both online and direct channels in industrial parks and industrial clusters. The work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions is carried out along with building a team of union officials at the grassroots level with sufficient capacity to promote the role, functions and tasks of the trade union organization.
With a new organizational structure, a team of enthusiastic cadres and a clear task orientation, the Can Tho City Labor Federation after the arrangement and merger will be more steadfast in its mission, truly a solid and reliable support for union members and workers, contributing to building Can Tho City to become more and more civilized, rich and beautiful, and a strong Trade Union organization - Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai emphasized.
