On the afternoon of September 27, hundreds of workers at Hoang Sinh Import-Export Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Hoang Sinh Company in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province) continued to stop working because of unpaid wages.
According to the workers, some were owed 3 months of salary by the company, some were owed 4 consecutive months of salary by the company. This greatly affected the workers' lives.
"This time the company owes 3 months of salary. The company said it would pay today (September 27), but it did not pay, instead it announced that it would pay in mid-October 2024. At the beginning of the school year, workers have a lot of expenses, such as paying for accommodation, paying for children's school fees, and paying for food. If they continue to be owed salary, workers do not know how to live" - Ms. To Thi Phuong expressed.
Currently, the authorities of Binh Duong province have grasped information about the incident and have sent officers to coordinate the handling and protection of the rights of workers.
According to the workers, at the end of July 2024, nearly 1,000 workers of this company stopped working because the company was late with 4 consecutive months of salary. After that, the company paid 2 months, still owed 2 months, and the workers returned to work. The workers were supposed to receive their next month's salary at the end of August 2024, but the company continued to delay the salary.
On September 12, Hoang Sinh Company issued a notice promising to pay workers by September 27. However, by noon on September 27, workers had not yet received their salaries. Meanwhile, Hoang Sinh Company issued a new notice promising to pay July 2024 salaries from October 10-15, and August 2024 salaries before October 25.
The Board of Directors of Hoang Sinh Company gave the reason that the payment from orders was slower than expected; the loan application for investment was in the finalization stage so it had not been disbursed yet.
