The foundation of love
Ms. Cam's family is currently in particularly difficult circumstances. During the storm in June, the house where her family was living had its roof blown off, its walls cracked, and was at risk of collapsing. Ms. Cam and her husband have 3 young children, of which the youngest is only 11 months old, and there are cases of lung disease that often force Ms. Cam to take time off work to take care of her children, and her income has decreased significantly. Ms. Cam's husband also has an unstable and unstable job.
Faced with that situation, the Executive Board of the Trade Union of Pou Sung Company decided to support Ms. Cam in building a new house from the "Union Shelter" Fund. The house was completed with a total cost of 160 million VND, of which 60 million VND was supported by the union and the Board of Directors, the rest was contributed by relatives and local loans. Representatives of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, the Board of Directors of the company and delegates directly presented a symbolic support board and gifts to the family.
This is the 43rd house implemented in the "Union Shelter" program implemented by the company's Union Executive Committee since 2015. The Trade Union Shelter Program of Pou Sung Company has become a support for many union members in especially difficult circumstances. According to the company's union, the program to build a Union Shelter for workers in difficult circumstances, especially those with serious illnesses, raising children alone or being the main breadwinner in families with unable to work with a husband/wife.
Currently, the union is continuing to implement this meaningful program for workers with urgent needs for housing and facing housing difficulties, including the following cases: Workers have land but cannot build houses; Workers have seriously degraded houses but cannot repair them, support funding is 60 million VND/house. In addition, the union can support additional lending to complete the construction.
3 effective housing activities for workers
The Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Thanh Phu Industrial Park, Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province) is a bright spot in building a Trade Union Shelter for union members. From 2002 to present, the company's grassroots union has coordinated with the company's board of directors to build and repair more than 200 Union Shelters for union members and workers with an amount of over 5.4 billion VND.
Mr. Dang Tuan Tu - Chairman of the Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said: The company's Trade Union has implemented 3 effective activities to care for housing for union members and workers over the years, including: If union members do not have a house, the union will support the construction of a Trade Union Shelter; If union members have money to build a new house, the union will give gifts to workers to build a new house; If union members have a house but it is degraded, the Union will repair the house for free to workers. Through these activities, union members and workers are able to connect with the company.
The program to give gifts to workers building new houses (tivi, washing machines, refrigerators) has also been implemented since 2019 to date with a total amount of more than 1.7 billion VND. The " Volunteer" team specializing in repairing houses for workers was also established in 2024.
