Textile orders more stable
At the Central Garment Development Joint Stock Company (Quang Tri province), there are 1,000 workers. This time, the company is producing large quantities of export orders to the US, Canada, and Russia.
Mr. Le Anh Phong - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Central Garment Development Joint Stock Company said that in 2024, orders are very stable, the company currently has orders extending to the first quarter of 2025.
“In 2024, orders will increase by 150-170% compared to 2023. Currently, the company is mainly producing fashion pants and workwear. With 1,000 current workers, we cannot keep up with orders, so we have to work overtime and cooperate with small-scale garment processing facilities,” said Mr. Le Anh Phong.
In Quang Tri province, there are currently 9 enterprises operating in the garment sector, in addition to many small-scale garment processing establishments. This is an industry that creates many jobs for local workers with about 5,000 workers at peak times. After years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, many enterprises had to cut labor due to a lack of orders, but since March 2024, they have recovered, with a fairly high number of orders.
Recruiting workers, expanding production
According to the Quang Tri Provincial Employment Service Center, there are currently many businesses recruiting workers in the province, of which the garment sector has the highest recruitment demand.
For example, Hoa Tho - Dong Ha Garment Joint Stock Company needs to recruit 200 sewing workers; Hoa Tho - Trieu Phong Garment Factory recruits 500 sewing workers; Scavi Quang Tri Company Limited recruits 200 general workers; 300 people in sewing training positions; 500 sewing workers; Jinquan Vietnam Travel Equipment Company Limited recruits more than 200 workers in many sewing positions...
However, recruiting workers in businesses is facing difficulties. In the first two quarters of 2024, in Quang Tri, there were 350 units and businesses registered to recruit more than 6,800 workers in many job positions. However, the Quang Tri Provincial Employment Service Center only successfully connected and introduced jobs to 515 workers who found jobs in the province and in the country, reaching 22% of the recruitment needs of businesses.
It is known that companies continue to motivate and encourage workers to increase labor productivity, while recruiting more workers and seeking new orders for 2025.
