“I am one of the unfortunate workers who suffered a workplace accident with 72% health damage. My right leg is 1/3 amputated, right pelvis is deformed, hip osteoarthritis. Up to now, every time the weather changes, bone and joint pain continues to occur.
After the accident, travel was difficult, and life had to depend on relatives. Fortunately, I was always encouraged and supported by colleagues and the Trade Union. At the factory, the Trade Union proposed that the company arrange work suitable for my health.
On holidays and Tet, the Trade Union always gives gifts and provides both material and spiritual support. I hope that the Trade Union will continue to be a solid support for workers far from home whenever they encounter difficulties, and actively support workers who unfortunately have accidents or serious illnesses.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Sang (born in 1991, working in Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City):

“I am also a worker who suffered a work accident causing a 62% reduction in my working capacity. After the accident, my family faced many difficulties in life. My income was not available, and living expenses had to be supported by relatives. Fortunately, I was actively supported by trade union levels afterwards. I returned to work with a position suitable for my health. Every holiday and Tet, I receive support and encouragement from the Trade Union. Recently, I continued to receive support of 5.5 million VND from the Trade Union. I am very grateful for the work of the Trade Union organization. I hope the Trade Union will continue to maintain support programs for unfortunate workers who have accidents like me”.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong (42 years old, from Ninh Binh, working at Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd.):

My family has been in Ho Chi Minh City for more than 10 years but still has to rent a room. In Ho Chi Minh City, there is a stable job but the cost is high, so life is still difficult, especially when someone in the house is often sick.
Each month, my husband and I only have an income of nearly 20 million VND. This amount of money is saved for spending to cover living expenses. Recently, my husband and children have been frequently sick, having to go to the central hospital of Ho Chi Minh City, costing a lot of time and money. Especially my child, having to be examined at final-line hospitals. Every time my child goes for re-examination, I have to ask for a day off. The road is far and I have to rent a car to go, so it is very expensive.
I hope the Trade Union will propose to the State to develop a large hospital with a team of good doctors and nurses near Ben Cat and Binh Duong wards. Thereby, helping workers and families conveniently get medical examinations. Thereby, taking better care of health and saving costs for workers far from home.
