Workers who settle down will be attached to businesses
Mr. Kim Vinh Cuong - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd., affirmed that he was very impressed with the Prime Minister's directing speeches on comprehensive care policies for workers (CN) in many fields such as health care, training policies, improving skills for workers (NLĐ), building houses for workers to rent, lease-purchase...
Mr. Cuong informed that PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. has about 45,000 workers, of which about 50% have to rent houses to live in people's boarding houses, and with the current income, it is very difficult for workers to buy houses to own and live in. Therefore, the Party, State, and Ho Chi Minh City have issued policies and implemented the construction of houses for workers to rent and rent-purchase and have a comprehensive ecosystem including kindergartens, schools for workers' children, medical examination and treatment facilities, commercial centers... to make the living space of workers more complete, which is very enthusiastic and supported by workers and wishes these policies to soon become reality. Because, when workers settle down, they will be attached to businesses and businesses will not be affected by labor fluctuations, then they will be assured to invest in developing production and business, helping to ensure jobs and income for workers.
And Ms. Cao Thi Chinh, an employee of Long Cuong Co., Ltd., was very impressed when she saw that the Prime Minister frankly pointed out that the conditions for caring for and improving the physical and mental health of workers are still lacking, and the Prime Minister reiterated the Politburo's Resolution, from 2026, regular health check-ups or free screenings will be organized for people at least once a year according to priority groups and roadmaps, in which, one of the priority groups is workers.
Ms. Chinh shared that reality shows that the needs of workers currently do not only stop at regular medical examinations but also need a more specialized and comprehensive care system. Therefore, Ms. Chinh proposed that it is necessary to build a list of specialized health check-ups and medical examination package standards for female workers higher than the basic level of labor law and coordinate with specialized hospitals and reputable medical facilities to have the most preferential prices for workers through trade union health welfare programs.
Learning is no longer an option, but an inevitable path
Ms. Pham Thi Hong Yen - Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Intel Products Vietnam Company - said that in the past two days, many workers and she herself have always followed the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2026 - 2031 term and the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress has left many feelings of pride and expectations.
Ms. Yen assessed that in the digital age and a volatile environment, learning is no longer an option, but an inevitable path. If previously, a university degree was a source of pride, now it is only the initial foundation. More importantly, lifelong learning - a journey to help workers and union members improve their capacity, seize opportunities for promotion and gradually realize their own aspirations. Especially in high-tech industries, where knowledge determines productivity, training becomes even more of a "key" to open the future.
The Prime Minister's statement on the Government's commitment to accompany and support the business community in developing science, technology and digital transformation and supporting digital skills training, new vocational skills, supporting retraining, vocational conversion training, ensuring sustainable employment for workers and the Government's assignment to the Ministry of Education and Training to study the transformation of training models in a flexible direction, suitable to practical requirements and meeting the needs of businesses has created a strong impression, arousing belief in a development strategy with workers at the center. This is not only policy support, but also a strong encouragement for workers to boldly study and develop themselves. When their qualifications are improved, workers have the opportunity to advance faster, their incomes improve significantly, thereby improving the quality of life for themselves and their families," Ms. Yen said.
Mr. Huynh Vinh Lam - Chairman of Ben Thanh Ward Trade Union, Ho Chi Minh City - was also very impressed with the Prime Minister's viewpoint on organizing Trade Unions to accompany businesses and workers to improve labor productivity, contributing to the implementation of the country's economic growth goals. However, from the reality of workers' lives today, Mr. Lam believes that labor productivity will be meaningful when the achievements of growth are distributed fairly and workers need to enjoy it appropriately. "Workers will be willing to learn, improve their skills and contribute more when their income is improved corresponding to the labor value they create," Mr. Lam said.
