Hanoi Employment Service Center said that in August 2026, the recruitment demand of businesses throughout the city is 38,000 positions. The recruitment market shows a strong shift in the service - consumer block, while the recruitment scale in the industry - construction group has temporarily narrowed.
Based on the survey and information collection of 13,424 recruitment targets of 2,545 vacant job information at the Hanoi Employment Service Center, it shows that recruitment demand is concentrated in wholesale, retail and other service activities accounting for 60.3% (up 8.3 percentage points compared to the previous month).
The processing, manufacturing - construction industry accounts for 25.9% (down 10 percentage points compared to the previous month). However, this decrease is mainly due to relative proportional fluctuations in the short term due to the service sector breaking through too quickly. In fact, the recruitment scale and salary levels of the construction - infrastructure industry have not decreased, and are even very "thirsty" for human resources to accelerate the disbursement of public investment.
In August, the recruitment demand of businesses continued to strongly focus on the group of workers with high qualifications and professional skills. Leading the entire market in recruitment demand is the group of mid-level professionals (22%), senior professionals (20.35%) and office assistants (18.39%). These 3 groups account for more than 60% of the total demand, affirming that the core orientation of businesses is to prioritize high-quality human resources to optimize operational efficiency.
In the opposite direction, the direct labor force at the production line has a moderate recruitment demand. Assemblers operating machinery and equipment account for 8.53%, service and sales staff account for 8.53%, craftsmen and related occupations account for 7.7% and simple labor account for 7.5%. This shows that Hanoi's labor market is clearly showing a trend of valuing talents with high technical expertise, while maintaining a sufficient recruitment scale in the production and direct service sectors to maintain stable operation momentum.
Hanoi Employment Service Center assessed that the recruitment structure according to professional and technical qualifications in August is clearly shown with a strong differentiation trend. The peak segment (people with college and university degrees or higher) breaks through, accounting for more than half of the recruitment demand (of which university degrees or higher account for 28.25%, college accounts for 24.24%), affirming the top priority of businesses in attracting well-trained forces to handle core professional, technical and management positions.
The group of low-skilled workers (untrained workers decreased sharply to 19.02% and unskilled technical workers accounted for 10.49%) narrowed to nearly 30% of the recruitment demand, but still reflects a certain market demand for direct labor to serve production lines, factory operation, infrastructure construction and general services. Meanwhile, the intermediate level (15.25%) and elementary level (2.75%) segments remain relatively stable, accounting for a total of 18%.
Regarding the offered salary level, the salary range of 10-20 million VND/month accounts for the absolute leading position with 53.3%; the salary range of 5-10 million VND/month ranks second with 36.9% and the high salary range over 20 million VND/month accounts for 9.6%. The technical - construction block still maintains its breakthrough and isolation with the income of engineers, highly skilled workers and professional mechanics ranging from 16 to 35 million VND/month depending on the job position.
