Can you tell us, after the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, what solutions and tasks has Dong Nai Trade Union implemented to stabilize and ensure uninterrupted activities to care for workers?
- Immediately after the Resolution on the merger of provinces took effect from July 1, 2025, with a proactive, disciplined and responsible spirit, the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation quickly stabilized the organizational apparatus, arranged personnel, ensuring that the trade union system at all levels continued to operate smoothly and smoothly, without interruption. We pay special attention to arranging the team of cadres, civil servants, and union officials of the old Binh Phuoc province, ensuring stable food, accommodation, and workplaces, so that from the first day after the merger, cadres can immediately start working, continue to carry out the task of caring for and protecting workers without interruption.
The merger is not only a combination of two administrative units, but also a challenge and opportunity for the trade union system to enhance organizational capacity, improve operational efficiency, and meet the expectations of hundreds of thousands of union members and workers in the new province.
With a large area after the merger, the work of developing union members and building grassroots trade union organizations will face many challenges. Can you share your orientation for developing union members in the coming time?
- We clearly recognize that developing union members and building strong grassroots unions is not only a quantity target, but a continuous and vital political task of the Trade Union organization.
Innovation in the content and methods of trade union activities is an inevitable requirement, the key to adapting and developing in new conditions. The entire trade union system has, is and will continue to persistently pursue the goal: "Towards the grassroots, taking union members and workers as the center".
From the beginning of 2025, we have launched the "Pikes month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, introducing outstanding union members to the Party", creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere from the grassroots. In the first half of the month alone (May 1 - 15), the whole province established 14 new grassroots unions, developing 2,964 union members, and introducing 62 outstanding union members to the Party.
In the first 6 months of the year, the province developed 195 grassroots unions, admitted 49,189 new union members. In the old Binh Phuoc province alone, we recorded positive results in establishing 36 new grassroots unions, 6,041 union members were admitted. In the coming time, we will increase the application of information technology in union member management, organization management, internal communication and connection between union levels, especially in remote areas after the merger.
Can you tell us some key tasks that Dong Nai Trade Union will implement in the last 6 months of 2025?
- We continue to closely follow the practical life, work, wages and income of workers to effectively implement the following tasks:
- Coordinate with relevant agencies to focus on monitoring the implementation of labor laws, trade unions, salary policies, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance at enterprises.
- Direct grassroots trade unions to coordinate with employers to organize periodic dialogues, organize democratic implementation in enterprises; negotiate and supervise the implementation of Collective Labor Agreements in enterprises.
- Direct the departments to receive, support, provide legal advice, and resolve labor disputes.
- Prepare well for the Lunar New Year and Lunar New Year 2026, focusing on workers and laborers in difficult circumstances, occupational accidents, and those who have suffered from serious illnesses, workers who have been away from home for many years and have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet.
- Thank you!
