In the early days of April, Hanoi entered hot days with high temperatures, prolonged hot weather, directly affecting the work of outdoor workers.
In harsh weather conditions, many environmental sanitation workers and outdoor workers are still diligently working, proactively adapting to ensure work and maintain health.
Attached to street sweeping for many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - an environmental sanitation worker - said that hot sunny days make the work harder. To limit the impact of the weather on her body, she always equips herself with full protective gear such as hats, masks, and sun protection clothes when working outdoors.
In hot weather, you have to wear clothes tightly from head to toe, wear a hat, and protect yourself from the sun carefully to be able to work. However, working outdoors for many hours is still quite tiring, especially at noon," Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha shared.
Not only environmental sanitation workers, but many other freelancers are also clearly affected by the heat. Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - a technology driver - said that even wearing protective clothing, the harsh sun still causes the body to quickly lose water.
“It's hot in the sun, going out even wearing a sunscreen jacket is still very stuffy. I drink about 3 liters of water a day but still feel my throat dry, my body gets tired faster than in previous days,” Mr. Hai said.

To adapt to weather conditions, many outdoor workers have proactively adjusted working hours. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long - a delivery staff - said that he limits activities during hot sunny hours, and at the same time supplements water and rests reasonably to minimize health effects.
During hot peak hours, I will choose a cool place to rest and conserve energy. Instead of running many trips during the day, I will focus on running later in the evening," Mr. Hoang Long shared.
According to the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, in the 2 days of September 8 - 4, due to the influence of the low pressure area developing and expanding southeast, the Hanoi Capital area continues to maintain hot weather with the highest common temperature of 34 - 36 degrees C, air humidity at a relatively low level, about 53 - 58%. The meteorological agency warns that hot weather in this area may continue for many days to come.
Faced with extreme weather diễn biến, outdoor workers need to proactively take health protection measures such as limiting working in hot sunny weather, drinking enough water and supplementing reasonable nutrition to avoid the risk of dehydration and exhaustion.
