Focus on caring for life and connecting jobs
The Da Nang City Labor Federation has issued a plan to organize activities for Workers' Month and respond to the Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026 with many specific and practical contents.
According to the plan, activities will be implemented from May 1st to the end of May 31st, 2026 at trade union levels, businesses and industrial parks in the city, associated with the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day. In which, the group of activities to care for the lives of union members and workers continues to be focused on, especially targeting those in difficult circumstances, who have had labor accidents, occupational diseases or female workers who are pregnant or raising young children.
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Chairwoman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said that this year's activities are built in a practical direction, closely following the needs of workers and strengthening coordination between trade unions and businesses to improve efficiency. Programs to visit, give gifts, and support workers are widely implemented, combined with the organization of "Trade Union Meals" to improve the quality of lunch meals at enterprises. Trade unions at all levels coordinate with employers to mobilize to improve the quality of meals, supplement meals for overtime workers or working in heavy and hazardous environments. Regular health check-ups, reproductive health counseling, and psychological counseling are also organized to comprehensively care for workers.
Welfare programs such as preferential booths, discount sales in industrial parks, and workers' boarding houses continue to be implemented, contributing to reducing living costs. In addition to caring for life, trade union levels also organize the "May Dialogue" program to create a forum for workers to reflect their recommendations and proposals to businesses and authorities.
The "Skills Day - Sustainable Employment" program is also being implemented, helping workers access recruitment information, career orientation and improve skills in the context of a changing labor market.
Promoting initiatives and improving labor safety
In parallel with care activities, Workers' Month 2026 also focuses on promoting the movement of initiatives and innovation among workers. Trade union levels mobilize workers to propose technical improvement solutions, improve production efficiency, improve working processes and save costs. Feasible initiatives will be supported for implementation and replication in enterprises, and will be considered for commendation and reward. Activities such as skills competitions, initiative competitions, and the "Workers' Initiatives" program are organized to create an environment for workers to promote their ideas.
In addition, a short video writing contest on digital platforms was launched to spread the image of workers and initiatives in production.
During Workers' Month, occupational safety and health activities are implemented synchronously, from propaganda and training at enterprises to inspection and review of working conditions, especially in high-risk industries. At the same time, the movement to build a culture of occupational safety is promoted to raise workers' awareness.
The launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health is expected to be held at the end of April 2026. Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - a worker at Hoa Khanh Industrial Park said: "Participating in occupational safety care and training programs helps workers feel secure at work, while improving skills and awareness in the production process.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, the synchronous implementation of activities in Workers' Month 2026 is expected to contribute to improving working conditions, improving labor productivity and quality of life for workers in Da Nang city.
