On November 22, the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union announced that the Tam Quang Fisheries Union, Nui Thanh Commune held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.

This is an important milestone for the local fishermen, and at the same time affirms the pioneering role of the Tam Quang Fisheries Union - the first fisheries union established in the old Quang Nam area (established on June 7, 2012).
Over the past term, the Union has gathered 360 union members, maintained 06 union groups; the whole commune has 208 large-capacity ships operating offshore with an output of about 17,500 tons; 100% of ship owners strictly comply with regulations on monitoring journeys, entering and leaving ports and do not violate IUU. Propaganda work on marine law, fisheries law and combating IUU fishing was deployed to more than 400 union members.
The Solidarity groups at Sea continue to support fishermen in informing them about fishing grounds and rescuing them, contributing to ensuring safety during exploitation, contributing to strengthening fishing forces and developing the marine economy of Nui Thanh commune.

The union has supported 21.4 million VND for accident cases; the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented 40 Tet gifts to union members in difficult circumstances. The fishermen's support fund currently has 15.7 million VND, the savings fund has reached 140 million VND. For many consecutive years, the Union has been commended by the old Quang Nam Provincial Federation of Labor and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The Congress set a goal of developing 200 more union members, improving the activities of the Solidarity Group at sea and strengthening coordination with functional forces in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands. The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the first term, consisting of 9 comrades; comrade Huynh The Dieu was elected as Chairman.
With many consecutive achievements and a pioneering role since its establishment, the Tam Quang Fisheries Union continues to affirm its position as a pillar of solidarity, supporting fishermen to go offshore to stick to the sea, making an important contribution to the development of the marine economy and defending the Fatherland.
