On November 22, due to the widespread landslide and cracked hill behind the house, the People's Committee of Avong commune, Da Nang city had to mobilize all forces to urgently evacuate people in Bhlooc village to a safe place.
Mr. Briu Quan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Avuong commune - said that prolonged heavy rain in recent days has caused the geology in the area to seriously weaken. All 16/16 villages of the commune are located in areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding.

The most alarming is in Ga' Lau and Arec villages. The authorities recorded cracks hundreds of meters long, with subsidence points 3 - 5 meters deep, directly threatening the lives of dozens of households and school areas. Many major traffic routes have been buried by rocks and soil, causing local isolation.
On November 22, in Bhlooc village, seeing the landslides continue to develop complicatedly, the commune government mobilized police, military and militia forces to support the immediate evacuation of people.

Currently, dozens of households have been arranged to take shelter at the multi-purpose house of Avuong Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Arec School. The dangerous areas have been roped off, warning signs have been put up and forces have been deployed to be on duty 24/7.
Faced with the urgent situation, the People's Committee of Avuong commune has issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Da Nang city to declare a natural disaster emergency in Ga' Lau and Arc villages; at the same time, recommending departments and branches to promptly survey to develop a long-term resettlement plan to stabilize people's lives.
