Doctor Pham Ty has been honored more than 10 times for his technical innovations in scientific research and innovation in the medical field.
Throughout his career, Dr. Pham Ty has conducted many scientific research topics published in specialized journals, domestic and international surgical conferences. Most recently, the initiative "Treating spontaneous blood clots in the brain using endoscopic technology combined with endoscopy Navigation Guided (Endoscopy Navigation Guided) through a self-made vascular system".
This initiative has opened up effective treatment opportunities for many patients with cerebral hemorrhage, helping to save many critical cases right in the locality, limiting the need to transfer to higher-level hospitals. According to experts, this solution brings great economic efficiency, helping patients and society save billions of VND each year.
Doctor Pham Ty said that there are still many people who do not have enough knowledge about neurological and spinal diseases. For example, with herniated discs, many people still think that the disease cannot be treated or if they want to be treated, they have to go to large hospitals in cities, leading to waste of both time and costs.
“That is also the motivation for me to constantly learn, improve my professional qualifications, and access new techniques to bring the best treatment methods for patients,” shared Dr. Pham Ty.
Having been attached to the profession for many years, Dr. Pham Ty has directly performed thousands of nerve and spinal surgeries, including many particularly complex cases.
Not long ago, he and his team successfully operated on patient Nay Nui (40 years old, Krong Pa area) who suffered cervical spine injury and quadriplegia after falling from a height. When admitted to the hospital, the patient was in critical condition. Immediately after examination, the team led by Dr. Pham Ty urgently proceeded with surgery.
After more than 7 hours, the surgery was successful. By the 14th day after surgery, the patient was discharged from the hospital with limb motor function gradually recovering.
Stemming from his passion for medicine, Dr. Pham Ty always proactively updates scientific advances and applies new techniques to treatment to improve treatment effectiveness, shorten treatment time and reduce the burden of costs for people.
According to Dr. Pham Ty, empathy with patients is the most important factor for a medical professional.
When truly understanding the patient's pain, the doctor will always try his best to find the most effective treatment method. Together with colleagues, I have successfully performed many difficult surgeries such as brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, cerebral vascular malformations and spinal diseases" - he shared.
In 1989, Dr. Ty graduated with a major in General Practitioner from Hue Medical University. In early 1990, he returned to work at Quy Nhon City General Hospital (old Binh Dinh province). In 1993, Dr. Ty studied for a doctorate at Hanoi Medical University, successfully defending his doctoral thesis in 1998.
Doctor Ty also passed the entrance exam and studied neurosurgery and spinal surgery twice at Ponchaillou Hospital, RENNES Academy, French Republic. From June 2012, Doctor Ty started working at Gia Lai Provincial General Hospital. After that, he studied in-depth neurosurgery and spinal surgery at the Barrow Institute of Neurology, Phoenix, USA.
