Trade union fire keepers in high-tech enterprises

Yên San |

In Hoa Binh ward, Phu Tho province, in the green campus of R Vietnam Technical Research Company Limited, a 100% Japanese-owned enterprise, there is always a woman who silently contributes to making positive changes for workers and laborers.

That is Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Tu - Member of the Executive Committee of the Company's Trade Union - who has been attached to and devoted to the development of the Trade Union organization for many years.

Having been attached to the company since the early days of the company's foundation in Hoa Binh (now Phu Tho province), Ms. Tu is not only an experienced technician in the field of high-end optical lenses manufacturing but also a trusted companion of workers in union activities. Although professional work requires meticulousness and precision, she always arranges harmoniously between professional tasks and union roles, not letting any work go unnoticed.

"The trade union is not only an organization representing rights but also a bridge to spread sharing and humanity in the working environment" - Ms. Tu shared in her pride in her journey with workers.

From seemingly small things such as recommending improving shift meals, supporting workers in difficulty or organizing cultural and sports activities after work, she has always been closely involved. It is the understanding of the workers' concerns that helps her make many practical and feasible proposals, creating consensus in the board of directors and grassroots trade unions.

Not only passionate about the union, Ms. Tu is also the author of 4 grassroots experience initiatives, contributing to improving production processes, improving work efficiency and ensuring labor safety. These persistent contributions not only help businesses operate stably but also affirm the role of Vietnamese workers in foreign-invested companies.

In recognition of her tireless efforts, Ms. Tu was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the old Hoa Binh Provincial Labor Federation (now Phu Tho Province) in 2024 and was honored to receive the "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization" Medal awarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023. This is not only her pride but also a testament to the active role of grassroots union officials in the new context.

After the three provinces of Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho merged into Phu Tho province from July 1, the presence of dedicated union officials like Ms. Tu became even more necessary - like flexible but durable connectors, helping workers feel secure at work, contributing to stabilizing psychology and maintaining labor productivity.

Ms. Tu's journey is clear evidence that the strong grassroots trade union is thanks to the people who are persistent, silent but never stop trying. That is also the way Ms. Tu contributes to shining brighter the role of the Trade Union organization in the period of integration and innovation.

Mr. Tong Duc Chien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Phu Tho Provincial Federation of Labor - shared: "After the merger, the Trade Union organization must quickly adapt to the new apparatus, while maintaining its role as a support for workers. In which, grassroots union cadres hold key positions, being those who are close to workers, understand the concerns of union members and promptly connect with the organization. Their proactiveness, responsibility and community spirit have contributed to stabilizing labor relations in enterprises.
