The Ministry of Planning and Investment has just sent an appraisal report to the Prime Minister on the dossier approving the investment policy for the Project on investment in construction and business of infrastructure of Tran Yen Industrial Park, phase 1, Yen Bai province. Accordingly, the planning area belongs to the administrative boundaries of Bao Hung commune and Minh Quan commune, with a total planning study area of 339 hectares. The project has a land use scale of about 255 hectares, proposed by Viglacera Corporation - JSC with a total estimated investment capital of 2,184 billion VND. When it is started and put into operation, Tran Yen Industrial Park will have an area of 339 hectares, the second largest after the Southern Industrial Park. Bringing the total area of industrial parks to nearly 1,000 hectares.
According to Lao Dong on October 27, the land area of the Tran Yen Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Phase 1 is mostly hilly land, being cultivated by local people. The project location is planned to be less than 1km from Au Co Street and the headquarters of Bao Hung Commune People's Committee, about 2km from Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway IC12 Interchange (towards Au Co Street), and about 5km from Yen Bai City (towards Au Co Street, National Highway 32C, National Highway 37).
Taking advantage of the lack of orders from his company in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Van Son (28 years old, Minh Bao commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai) returned to visit his small family. Looking at the large plot of land where the industrial park worth more than 2,000 billion VND is expected to be built, Mr. Son said: "If the industrial park is soon implemented, attracting large companies and many orders, I will return to my hometown to work, and my children will not have to suffer the separation from their parents."
Not only Mr. Son, but also all the villages of Minh Bao commune have high expectations for this project. For them, this is not only a big project of Yen Bai province, but also an opportunity to change their lives, bringing their children back to work near home after many years of living away from home.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xoan (30 years old) is one of those who left her hometown Yen Bai to work as a worker in Bac Ninh for the past 4 years. For her, the construction of a new industrial park is great news.
“My salary of over 9 million VND/month is just enough to cover my living expenses and send my children to school. However, working far away and having no one to take care of my elderly parents makes me worried. So, when the locality has industrial parks and factories, I will return to my hometown to work closer to my family,” Ms. Xoan shared.
Create jobs for thousands of workers
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Chairman of Bao Hung Commune People's Committee Pham Van Thinh said that the planning of Tran Yen Industrial Park was announced to the people in September 2022. When hearing the news that the industrial park was about to be built on part of the commune, the people were very happy and agreed.
Currently, people in Bao Hung commune mainly work in agriculture, the economy is not well off. After the industrial park is completed, it is expected to create many jobs for thousands of local workers.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Lan - Chairwoman of the Industrial Parks Union of Yen Bai province said that currently there are 3 industrial parks in operation in the area including Southern Industrial Park, Au Lau and Minh Quan with more than 5,000 workers. When Tran Yen Industrial Park comes into operation, it is expected to create jobs for many local people.
“The Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor is organizing a program to support businesses in recruiting workers. During the weekend (October 26 and 27), we worked with communes around the industrial park to inform unemployed people and working-age youth who are at home to submit their applications to companies and businesses. We also recommended that businesses have policies to support workers such as centralized accommodation and transportation for workers working in distant provinces to return to their hometowns,” Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Lan shared.
