High-quality human resources need to be linked to social security policies

Many trade union officials and workers expressed their joy at the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party and wished that functional agencies would soon implement the decisions of the congress, in which, focus on developing high-quality human resources associated with caring for union members and workers.

Focusing on developing high-quality human resources

Ms. Pham Thi Hong Yen - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Intel Products Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party is an important historical milestone, continuing to consolidate the belief that the agreed orientations will contribute to building a sustainable, stable and prosperous country.

From the initial successes, it is necessary to clearly define the consistent strategic direction of developing high-quality human resources, considering this as the core foundation for Vietnam's digital and semiconductor industries. In the context of a strong restructuring of the global value chain, this is a key area that determines long-term competitiveness and growth. The decisive factor is not only capital or technology, but first of all people - a team of workers with qualifications, discipline, innovative thinking and integration ability.

Investing in people is the most effective and sustainable investment. In the coming time, it is necessary to promote the training of engineers, microchip experts, automation, artificial intelligence, and at the same time improve the skills of technical workers; link training with business needs, create conditions for lifelong learning and rapid adaptation to new technologies. Developing digital human resources requires synchronous coordination between education - training, businesses and the whole society, which is also a key factor for Vietnam to become a long-term investment destination.

Doing a good job of human resources strategy will help workers have sustainable jobs, businesses improve their competitiveness and the country gradually affirm its position in the high-tech industries of the future" - Ms. Yen shared.

Completing mechanisms and policies for social security for informal workers

Mr. Le Tan Luu - Chairman of Binh Tan Technology Motorbike Taxi Union - expressed "After the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party, we are very confident and expect a new stage of development for the country. We hope that levels and sectors will continue to pay more deep attention to the informal labor force, including union members of grassroots trade unions, with specific policies such as: Completing mechanisms and social security policies for informal workers on voluntary social insurance, health insurance, support when sick, accidents, occupational risks.

At the same time, strengthen the role of trade unions in representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of workers, especially freelancers and technology workers; have policies to support sustainable livelihoods for trade union members in terms of preferential loans, labor vehicles, skills training, and vocational conversion in line with the trend of green economy and digital economy development.

In particular, it is necessary to pay more attention to caring for the spiritual life and social welfare of union members, especially difficult workers, single female workers, and elderly workers. We believe that, with the success of the 14th National Party Congress, the timely and practical attention of all levels of government and trade unions to informal workers will contribute to consolidating the great unity bloc, ensuring social security and sustainable national development.

Increasing salaries and incomes for workers

Mr. Doan Tran Nhiem - Worker of Nidec Vietnam Company - said: "Following the information of the 14th National Party Congress through the press, I see that the Congress has made many important decisions related to the development of the country and nation, including workers in the coming time.

It can be clearly seen that in recent years, under the leadership of the Party, the lives of workers (CNLD) have been increasingly improved and enhanced. However, a part of CNLD still face difficulties when they have to rent rented houses to live, while salaries are not enough to buy or rent social housing.

In his speech at the Congress, General Secretary To Lam said that the general objectives of this Congress are: maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; rapid and sustainable development of the country; improving and comprehensively improving people's lives; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the new era of the nation; successfully implementing the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle-income by 2030.

General Secretary To Lam also emphasized: Economic growth must be closely linked to progress, social justice and environmental protection, so that people's material and spiritual lives are constantly improved, so that society is truly harmonious and democratic, so that people believe in the path to socialism.

Therefore, workers and employees hope that the Party will have policies to increase wages and incomes for workers, shifting from the minimum wage to a sufficient salary to live on, so that each worker and employee must raise at least one child.

In addition, there needs to be policies to create more conditions for workers to improve their spiritual lives, to rest more to regenerate labor, take care of families, children and enjoy the fruits of labor.
