In the left Bank of the Da River Industrial Park (Hoa Binh Ward, Phu Tho Province), Bandai Vietnam Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in assembling clusters of automobile lighting to export to Japan, the US, Mexico, France... Currently, the company has more than 600 employees with an average income of about 7 million VND/person/month.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Bandai Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that on the occasion of the September 2 holiday, all workers will have 3 days off, from August 31 to September 2.
"The company's labor characteristics are that most of the company is far away, many people come from mountainous communes such as Da Bac, Mai Chau, Tan Lac... Therefore, the holiday is also an opportunity for family members to visit their families and recharge after consecutive working days," Ms. Anh shared.
According to Ms. Anh, the company is currently recruiting about 100 more unskilled workers to meet the production schedule. The first phase of the factory has been in operation since 2021, while phase 2 has not yet been used.
"The advantage is that the company's orders are always steady, and for many years, workers have not had to take turns to work due to lack of work. Thanks to that, we can feel secure in sticking together for a long time, Ms. Anh emphasized.
Unlike the complete holiday atmosphere in Bandai Vietnam, at CM Vina Coasia Joint Stock Company ( Luong Son Industrial Park, Luong Son Commune, Phu Tho Province), where there are nearly 1,400 workers, there are still dozens of people registered to stay in the workshop.
Mr. Le Xuan Uoc - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said: "Many workers voluntarily work overtime to keep up with the order schedule and improve income. During the holidays, businesses pay three times more than usual salaries according to the provisions of the Labor Code, while still ensuring support for shift meals and bonuses for special needs".
According to Mr. Uoc, the company is also currently recruiting about 50 more production workers, with a salary of 9 - 12 million VND/person/month to meet increasing orders.
Ms. Bui Thi Ly, 34 years old, from Lac Thuy, a worker in the electronic components manufacturing department of Coasia CM Vina, shared: "My family still has many expenses, so during the holidays, I volunteer to register to work overtime. In addition to the main salary, working on a few extra holidays is enough to cover living expenses, helping me take care of my young child."
Mr. Ban Van Huy, Ms. Ly's colleague, added: "Although working these days is more difficult, in return, I get more income, which helps the company keep up with the order progress. We all know that, so whoever volunteers can register.
Not only in Coasia CM Vina, many other enterprises in Luong Son Industrial Parks also recorded workers registering to work overtime during the holidays.
At Vietnam Fragrances Co., Ltd. (Hoa Binh) - an FDI enterprise specializing in the production of products made from wood, bamboo, and rattan with more than 800 workers, Ms. Nguyen Thi Men, a construction worker in the patchwork section, shared: On time of September 2, I signed up to work for 2 more days. Everyone wants to take a break, but working a few more days off helps me have extra money to cover my child's tuition, and I don't have to worry about it at the end of the month."
In the context of extensive integration, many businesses have expanded production and increased recruitment to keep up with the progress of large orders. This is a positive signal for both the job market and the economic recovery. Notably, during the holidays, many workers still voluntarily register to work overtime, both contributing to ensuring production plans and improving family income.
According to Mr. Tong Duc Chien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Phu Tho Provincial Labor Federation, the spirit of being ready to work overtime during the holiday reflects the attachment and responsibility of workers to the enterprise.
