The Vietnamese stock market is experiencing strong fluctuations. With two consecutive sessions of decline, the VN-Index lost 42 points in the last session of the week and decreased by more than 31 points in the first session of this week.
However, the trading session on August 26 recorded a clear recovery when the VN-Index increased sharply again, the increase of more than 50 points as of 11:29. Many large stocks fluctuated strongly, in which the group of stocks "go Vin" became the focus.
In the context of the market sinking into red yesterday, Vingroup's VIC shares still reversed the flow to increase strongly and set a new price record. At the end of the session on August 25, VIC increased by 5.6% and became the most important support for the index, while VHM also increased slightly by 0.3%.
This development has helped Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong's assets fluctuate strongly in a positive direction, he has an additional 777 million USD, an increase of 6.13% to about 13.5 billion USD.
According to Forbes, as of August 26 (Vietnam time), Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is ranked 205th in the list of billionaires in the world. Compared to May 8, when VIC shares increased after the information Vinpearl (VPL) listed on HoSE, Mr. Vuong's assets increased by about 4.4 billion USD and the promotion position of 120 places in just over 3 months.
Up to now, VIC shares are trading around VND130,000/share, three times higher than at the beginning of the year. Vingroup's capitalization has therefore exceeded the half-million-dong mark. Notably, in the "Vin men" group, in the session of June 28, VHM shares increased the ceiling to VND 105,200/share.
Along with Mr. Vuong, some other billionaires also recorded positive asset fluctuations. The increase in VJC and HDB stocks helped Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's assets increase by 20 million USD, reaching 3.6 billion USD. Mr. Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of Hoa Phat - has an additional 77 million USD, bringing his total assets to 2.7 billion USD.
On the other hand, the two billionaires recorded a decrease in assets after the first session of the week. Mr. Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of Techcombank - lost 58 million USD, while Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of Masan - lost 25 million USD.
