Regarding the reason why recruiting workers is difficult, according to Ms. Tam, it is probably because workers are not satisfied with the salary offered by the company.
Ms. Bui Thi Nghe - Director of TAAD Ha Tinh Production Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Ha Tinh City) - said that from the beginning of 2024 until now, the company's orders have been stable, ensuring regular jobs. regularly for 300 workers with an average income of more than 6 million VND/person/month.
With stable orders, TAAD Ha Tinh Production Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company announced the recruitment of 100 more workers, but the recruitment results were low and difficult to recruit.
“Now the garment industry is no longer attractive. Young workers mainly go to work abroad or work in other occupations to earn better income. Perhaps that is the reason why recruiting workers in the garment industry in Ha Tinh is difficult" - Ms. Nghe said.
Ms. Nghe said that the income of more than 6 million VND/month minus social insurance payment is higher than in previous years. The company also has housing for workers, a daycare for workers' children, and regulations and policies to ensure compliance with regulations, but it is still difficult to recruit workers. For that reason, the company wanted to expand its scale and increase operating capacity but could not.
Not satisfied with income
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thach - Chairman of the Trade Union of Economic Zones (EZ) of Ha Tinh province - said that in Vung Ang Economic Zone, there is a large-scale Garment Factory 10 employing up to 1,500 garment workers. To date, the company still lacks hundreds of workers and cannot recruit them.
According to Mr. Thach, in Ha Tinh, not only the garment sector but also some other sectors are having difficulty recruiting workers. The reason is that workers are not satisfied with their current income level, so many people choose to export labor to get better income.
In addition, currently many businesses in Ha Tinh do not have housing for workers . Kindergarten services, supermarkets, amusement parks for workers... are also lacking, so they cannot attract workers.
In addition, the general cost of living and renting accommodation in Ha Tinh is quite high, affecting the income and life of workers. Some workers are psychologically attached to businesses in the South, so they continue to be attached when their children study stably in the South.
According to Ha Tinh Employment Service Center, currently the demand for labor recruitment in many occupations in general and the garment sector in particular in Ha Tinh is quite large. However, recruitment is difficult because the income level in Ha Tinh is still not as high as in the South.
