On March 11, the Can Tho City Employment Service Center (DVVL) said that the unit has just issued a report analyzing the labor market in February 2026 and forecasting human resource demand in March 2026.
The report is built from the survey results of 119 businesses in the area with 11,346 vacant job positions for recruitment, along with information from 9,924 workers looking for jobs in Can Tho City.

Recruitment demand is most concentrated in the group of food processing workers, woodworking, garment and related crafts, accounting for 19.67% of total demand. Common positions include packaging workers, garment workers, processing workers, preliminary processing workers...
Second place is the business and management staff occupational group, accounting for 9.68% of total recruitment demand, with positions such as business staff, market development staff, and finance - credit staff.
Data also shows a relative disparity between labor supply and demand in some occupational groups. Notably, the administrative - general - office - human resources group has a labor supply rate of up to 65.67%, while recruitment demand only accounts for 34.33%.

According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center, due to the nature of the job that does not require many specialized skills from the beginning, this industry group attracts a large number of candidates from many different fields, making the level of competition very high.
Meanwhile, many businesses are streamlining their apparatus and promoting the application of automation software such as AI and HRM to replace procedural tasks.
This leads to a paradox: The market has many candidates doing administrative and non-business jobs, but lacks human resources with the ability to manage strategies, analyze human resources data or build corporate culture" - the report points out.
The mismatch between workers' skills and the actual needs of businesses is considered the reason why the unemployment rate or waiting for jobs in this industry group is still high.

According to Mr. Le Quang Trung - former Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Employment (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, now the Ministry of Home Affairs), the organization of job exchanges plays a very important role in the labor market to connect labor supply and demand for workers and employers directly and effectively. The exchange also provides labor market information to workers, employers and state management agencies.
In the current period, when the labor market is expected to receive tens of thousands more people in the payroll streamlining area, Mr. Trung believes that it is even more necessary to take advantage of the channel of job creation through job exchanges.
I highly appreciate the system of job service centers that have organized job exchanges in each locality, region and inter-region. At this time, we can take advantage of job exchanges to support streamlined labor through specialized and specific sessions" - Mr. Le Quang Trung said.
According to Mr. Trung, streamlining the apparatus is also a good job opportunity for those who stop working in the state sector to soon have jobs and suitable jobs; at the same time, it also requires workers to constantly improve their training level, retraining, and lifelong training to meet the requirements of the labor market in the new era.
