Many units have 100% of employees who are union members
Identifying membership development as one of the key tasks, in the past time, trade union levels in Dien Bien have actively promoted propaganda and mobilized workers to participate in the organization.
Most recently, on April 16, the Trade Union of Tua Chua Medical Center (under the Trade Union of Tuan Giao commune, Dien Bien province) organized a reception ceremony for 14 officials and employees working at the unit.
After the admission ceremony, the total number of trade union members of Tua Chua Medical Center increased to 246/246 people, reaching an absolute rate of 100%.
Previously, on April 13, another unit also under the Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union, the grassroots Trade Union of Muong Ang Medical Center, organized a reception ceremony for 12 officials and employees, thereby raising the total number of union members of the unit to 237/237 people (reaching 100%).

Mr. Le Van Dung - Deputy Director, Chairman of the Trade Union of Muong Ang Medical Center said that achieving 100% of officials, employees, and laborers being union members not only shows the concern and care of the Trade Union organization but also shows the spirit of solidarity, attachment and responsibility of the team of officials and employees of the Center.
In the coming time, the Trade Union of the Center will continue to promote its role as a solid and reliable support for union members, contributing to building an increasingly developed unit, excellently completing the task of taking care of and protecting people's health" - Mr. Le Van Dung emphasized.
According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Nhung - Chairman of Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union, the unit is currently managing 13 grassroots trade unions with over 1,000 officials, workers, civil servants, and laborers.
The majority of union members and workers have jobs and relatively stable lives, are assured in their work and labor production, and believe in the leadership of the Party and the State.
Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union also regularly focuses on innovating the content and methods of operation, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, putting workers at the center, and at the same time paying attention to training and professional development for grassroots trade union officials.
However, Mr. Nhung said that developing union members in the non-state sector is still a difficult "problem". The capacity of a part of Trade Union officials is still limited, leading to the quality of operation of some establishments not being uniform.
The lives of a part of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers have improved, but there are still many hardships. Some union members do not have housing, land, and jobs are not really sustainable" - Mr. Nhung added.
Continue to protect the rights of workers
Ms. Lau Thi Thanh Huong - Vice President of the Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that right in the first quarter of 2026, union member development work has been concerned and directed by trade union levels, and implemented synchronously.
The whole province has newly established 1 grassroots trade union, admitting 291 new union members. In particular, the work of creating sources for Party development is focused on when 22 outstanding union members have been introduced to the Party for consideration and fostering for admission.
Stepping into the second quarter of 2026, the Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation set out many key goals to protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.

According to Ms. Huong, the Provincial Labor Federation will strengthen grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members; listen to and promptly summarize recommendations related to regimes and policies at units.
Activities to care for life will be promoted, especially visiting and supporting union members in difficult circumstances, who have had labor accidents, and suffer from occupational diseases.
The Labor Federation will also review and consider proposals to support the construction of "Trade Union Homes" for union members who meet the conditions, focusing on direct production workers.
We encourage trade union levels to coordinate with employers to organize practical activities such as: dialogues at the workplace, periodic health check-ups, and improvement of working conditions and environments," Ms. Huong emphasized.
