Caring from practical needs
Workers' Month 2026 in Da Nang recorded many outstanding imprints when activities were all directed towards grassroots levels and focused on the practical needs of union members and workers.
According to a report by the Da Nang City Labor Federation, more than 50,000 union members and workers have participated and enjoyed programs in Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health this year. The highlight is the meeting and dialogue between city leaders, leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with trade union officials, union members and workers. Here, dozens of opinions and recommendations related to housing, employment, income, working conditions, vocational training and spiritual and cultural life were directly sent to leaders at all levels.
In parallel with dialogue activities, care work continues to be focused on. 1,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances are directly supported with cash; 20,000 free shopping vouchers are awarded at the Mobile Workers' Fair with dozens of booths discounted from 10-50%.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - a worker working at Hoa Khanh Industrial Park - shared that activities such as workers' fairs or gratitude programs for union members bring very practical benefits. "The thing I feel most clearly is that the trade union always cares about workers" - Ms. Hong commented.
Besides caring for material life, cultural and sports activities are also organized enthusiastically. This year's city workers, civil servants, and laborers' sports festival attracted more than 2,400 athletes to participate, creating an atmosphere of emulation and cohesion throughout the trade union system.
Spreading models from practice
A noteworthy point of this year's Workers' Month in Da Nang is the appearance of many new models, creative ways of working originating from the actual needs of workers and grassroots levels. Typical examples are the "Fast Response Team" model in labor relations to promptly grasp and handle problems arising at enterprises; the "Trade Union Arms - Loving Support Point" model; the "Doctors Accompany Union Members and Workers" column; the "Coolungering Summer - Supporting Workers" program or the "Labor Safety Culture at the Workplace" model.
Along with that is the continued maintenance of the "Self-managed Workers' Groups in Boarding Houses" model, helping to gather migrant workers, support legal propaganda, maintain security and order, and build a cultural life in residential areas. Skills-enhancing activities are also focused on.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation - informed that the activities of Workers' Month 2026 are implemented according to the motto of taking union members and workers as the center.
We hope that each activity brings specific benefits to workers. Not only taking care of material life, the trade union also creates conditions for workers to be listened to, to participate in dialogue, to learn to improve their skills and have more opportunities to develop themselves" - Mr. Dai said.
From discounted markets, timely support, skills improvement programs to frank dialogues with city leaders, Workers' Month 2026 has shown that when activities originate from the actual needs of workers, the spillover effect will be greater, and the effectiveness will be more sustainable. That is also the foundation for the Trade Union organization to continue to affirm its role as a representative, caring for and protecting the rights of workers in the new period.
