Over 5,000 union members and workers take care of their health
Identifying health care as one of the key contents of the work of caring for union members and workers, the Hanoi City Labor Federation has developed and implemented the Plan to organize the program "Trade Union members of the Health sector participate in free health check-ups for union members and workers in Hanoi city in 2026" with the goal of supporting 10,000 workers; so far, over 5,000 union members and workers have benefited.
In addition, the City Labor Federation coordinated with Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to organize reproductive health check-ups, communication counseling, early cancer screening and free medicine distribution for 700 female workers in Thach That - Quoc Oai Industrial Park. Grassroots trade unions also proactively coordinated to organize health check-ups for over 80,000 union members and workers.
Present at the reproductive health check-up, communication counseling, early cancer screening and free medicine distribution for 700 female workers at Thach That - Quoc Oai Industrial Park organized by the City Labor Federation on the occasion of Workers' Month 2026, Ms. Can Thi Thom, born in 1986, from Phu Cat, currently working at Meiko Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd., was very happy. Ms. Thom said that the doctors examined very attentively, thoughtfully, and gave detailed advice to workers. "We are very touched because the Trade Union organization pays attention to and creates conditions for free health check-ups right at the enterprise," Ms. Thom said.
15,231 new union members admitted in Workers' Month
Right in May - Workers' Month, the peak month of union member development, Cau Giay Ward Trade Union organized a Conference to announce the decision to establish 9 grassroots trade unions in the ward. The establishment of grassroots trade unions is an important milestone, contributing to enhancing the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; and at the same time strengthening the connection between workers and businesses.
This activity also shows the determination of the Cau Giay Ward Trade Union in continuing to expand and improve the quality of trade union activities, contributing to building an increasingly sustainable ward...
Reality shows that many activities in Workers' Month such as the May Dialogue, "Thank you workers", "Trade Union Meal"... have been levers in caring for union members and workers. The content of activities is innovated in a practical direction, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, focusing on solving issues that workers are concerned about such as employment, income, welfare, health, working conditions and spiritual life. Promoting the effectiveness of coordination between the Trade Union organization and Party committees, authorities, employers and relevant agencies and units in mobilizing resources to care for union members and workers.
This is also one of the factors for the establishment of grassroots trade unions and the development of union members to be more favorable. Because through activities organized by the Trade Union, workers see the benefits of joining the Trade Union organization.
In the Workers' Month of 2026, the Hanoi Labor Federation exceeded the target of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions. Accordingly, 186 new grassroots trade unions were established (exceeding 14.9%) and 15,231 new union members were admitted (exceeding 10.2%). In addition, digitization was strongly implemented: Data updates for more than 518,000 union members on the iHanoi system, reaching a rate of over 99.5%.
