24 years of working life for a couple to have a solid house
Ms. Bui Thi Cap (born in 1978) and Mr. Tran Thanh Truc both work at the Vietnam Pearl Company Limited (Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa) and have been married since 2000. In 2011, the couple built a small house large enough for a family of four to live in. In 2017, storm No. 12 swept away all their houses and properties; Ms. Cap and her husband built a temporary house on the old house's foundation to live in.
Struggling to raise 2 children to go to school, one of whom is studying at a university in Ho Chi Minh City. With a worker's salary, the dream of owning a solid house so that she doesn't have to worry about the rainy and stormy season is still just a dream for Ms. Cap... This year, Ms. Cap's eldest daughter graduated from school, and with the encouragement of the company's Union and the proposal of the higher-level Union to support the funding, Ms. Cap's dream has come true.
“After 24 years of marriage, my husband and I have our own room for the first time, a truly happy life. Thanks to the financial support of 60 million VND from the Khanh Hoa Trade Union Social Fund under the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation, my husband and I boldly borrowed more to complete the construction of a solid house with 3 bedrooms,” Ms. Cap shared.
The teachers have settled down
Also in tears of joy on the day of the handover of the new house in Phong Thanh village, Ninh Loc commune, Ninh Hoa town, teacher Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyen (born in 1992, teacher at Ninh Ich Primary School, Ninh Hoa town) said: "Until now, I still can't believe that I have my own house, spacious, clean and beautiful for my two children to feel secure."
After 9 years of teaching, Ms. Tuyen still lives at her mother's house. With a low income and a small child to raise, even though her mother gave her land, she still doesn't know where to get the money to build a house. With the encouragement of the Union Chairman, she was determined to build a house of more than 60 square meters with 3 rooms for the mother and child to live in.
Ms. Tuyen confided: “Without the support funds from the Union, I certainly would not have dared to overcome myself to borrow more to build a house like this. Now, even though I have debt, I can still work with peace of mind to stabilize my life better.”
Not only Ms. Tuyen, Ms. Kieu Thi Thanh Van (born in 1987) - a teacher at Hoa Phuong 1 Kindergarten (in group 8, Ben Khe village, Khanh Binh commune, Khanh Vinh district) also finds it difficult to achieve her dream of having a house to raise her children with peace of mind.
Understanding the concerns of the union members, the school's Union encouraged and actively supported the procedures to help Ms. Van access funding to build the Union Shelter. After 2 months, the dream house of Ms. Van and her children became a reality - bearing the significant mark of the Union organization.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation, the MACD program has been spreading to many union members in mountainous districts, Nha Trang city, Cam Ranh to Van Ninh district, Ninh Hoa and especially workers in industrial parks and industrial clusters throughout the province.
Statistics from the beginning of 2024 to present, Khanh Hoa trade unions at all levels have supported funding, built new houses and repaired 39 houses, with a total cost of nearly 2 billion VND.
In the coming time, the Labor Union will continue to coordinate with sponsors to spread the program to more union members. Especially union members with difficult housing conditions in mountainous districts to industrial parks... This is also one of the practical benefits that the Labor Union organization offers to union members to contribute to building a sustainable development of union members' lives.
