Improve the quality of the agreement with each re-signing.
Not only was the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union rated as type A, the 3rd agreement of LG Display Co., Ltd., which was recently signed, received the consensus of nearly 20,000 union members and employees when 10 chapters and 22 articles of the agreement were all directed towards employees. In particular, shift meals are 28,000-40,000 VND/meal, travel allowance is 400,000 VND/person; performance bonus is 500,000 VND to 1 month of basic salary/person/month; improvement bonus is 200,000 VND - 4 million VND/case...
Some other welfare regimes are also enhanced such as employees giving birth receive a gift of 500,000 VND, birthdays, March 8, October 20, Mid-Autumn Festival, Vietnamese Family Day all receive gifts of 200,000 VND/person... In addition to paying social insurance according to regulations, the company also buys high-value 24-hour insurance to ensure maximum benefits for employees.
Regarding the agreement of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd., which was recently re-signed last June, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said: All the contents of the agreement are more beneficial than the provisions of the law, more beneficial than the previous agreement, meeting the thoughts, aspirations and expectations of nearly 5,000 union members and employees at all 3 factories in Hai Phong, Thai Binh and Quang Ninh.
According to the agreement, employees are entitled to a 45-minute break between administrative shifts and night shifts; 30 minutes between morning and afternoon shifts. Workers who get married or have their first child receive a gift of 300,000 VND, a birthday gift of 100,000 VND/person, and a housewarming gift of 500,000 VND/person. Female employees during menstruation are entitled to 2 hours off/month, with full allowance (if they do not take a break, it will be counted as 1.5 hours of work time and they will receive full salary); female employees who are pregnant up to the 6th month are entitled to 2 hours off/month at the medical room, from the 7th month are entitled to 5 hours off/month, with full salary. Female employees raising children under 12 months old are entitled to 60 minutes off/day, if they do not take a break, it will be counted as overtime...
Similarly, at Wayne Vietnam Co., Ltd., the second signed agreement is of “better quality” than the first signed agreement with 10 chapters and 26 provisions that are more favorable than those stipulated by law. Typically, the minimum wage is at least 5% higher than the regional minimum wage, the Tet bonus is at least 1 month of basic salary, travel allowance of 25 liters of gasoline/person/month, child support allowance of 100,000 VND/child (no limit on the number of children/worker)... This agreement was approved by 100% of employees, and the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union gave it a grade A.
Monitoring the implementation of agreements at the enterprise
According to the report of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union, implementing the Program "Improving the quality of negotiation, signing and effective implementation of collective labor agreements", in the first 9 months of 2024, the Economic Zone Trade Union supported its affiliated grassroots trade unions to successfully negotiate and sign 66/50 copies, reaching 132% of the plan (newly signed 23/20, re-signed 43/30).
To date, 250/335 enterprises are eligible to sign the agreement, reaching 74.6%. The content of the agreements focuses on issues of wages, bonuses, working conditions and hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and hygiene. Notably, the quality of the agreements has also improved, to date 45.9% of the agreements are of type A, 34.8% of type B, and the rest are of type C and D.
Along with guiding units to sign new and re-sign agreements, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union also directed grassroots trade unions to monitor the implementation of agreements at enterprises; increase information gathering, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of union members, employees, the situation of labor relations, production and business, etc. From there, propose and coordinate to handle issues arising in practice, especially the implementation of policies and regimes related to employee rights and trade union activities.
