Raising piggy banks to connect love
In Dong Phu commune, Dong Nai province, New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd. is one of the enterprises with a large number of workers. In recent years, the jobs and incomes of workers have been quite stable. However, there are still cases where workers encounter difficulties due to unfortunate illnesses or accidents in their families.
Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Yen is one of the union members (working at New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd.) who is facing difficulties. Ms. Yen's family does not have a stable house and raises 3 young children. Recently, her eldest child (14 years old) unfortunately had an accident and is being treated for rehabilitation due to subdural hematoma and blood infection. The youngest daughter, 4 years old, also has a congenital disease that requires regular treatment.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi - Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of the company informed that, through grasping information, the CĐCS learned that Ms. Yen's family is in difficult circumstances. Therefore, the CĐCS regularly cares for and encourages Ms. Yen. "Most recently, the CĐCS has deducted 5 million VND from the "Connecting Love" fund to support Ms. Yen's family. Through this sharing, the CĐCS hopes to add motivation for Ms. Yen's family and children to overcome difficulties" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi shared.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi, currently the grassroots trade union is continuing to implement "Raising piggy banks - sending love". The money collected from raising piggy banks will be put into the "Connecting Love" fund to support union members in difficult circumstances. The "Connecting Love" fund has been operating since 2018, and so far has mobilized support for 28 union members in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 1.4 billion VND.
The grassroots trade union of New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that in March 2026, the unit made a list of 80 union members facing difficulties to support. Each union member was given a gift including 1 million VND and 1 box of instant noodles. This gift came from suppliers and the union's "Connecting Love" fund.
Trade union calls for support for union members
Ms. Le Ngoc Giau, a worker at Jason Furniture Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Xoai 3 Industrial Park, Binh Phuoc Ward, Dong Nai), is facing difficulties when her son has a brain hemorrhage and is being treated at Children's Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. Expenses exceeding affordability, while workers' incomes are tight, causing the family to fall into poverty.
The grassroots trade union of Jason Furniture Vietnam Co., Ltd., through grasping information, learned that Ms. Le Ngoc Giau's family is facing difficulties. The Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union has sent a letter calling on all colleagues to join hands to support Ms. Giau's family. After nearly 1 week, the grassroots trade union raised nearly 55.7 million VND.
Representatives of the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union came to Children's Hospital 1 to visit, encourage and hand over the entire amount of donations to support Ms. Giau's family. Wishing this sharing to help Ms. Giau's family have more funds to cover expenses and at the same time, add motivation for her family to overcome difficulties.
According to the grassroots trade union of Jason Furniture Vietnam Co., Ltd., whenever there are difficult circumstances in the company, the unit has called on union members and workers to promote solidarity, mutual affection, and help each other. At the beginning of March 2026, the unit also mobilized and provided nearly 55 million VND in support to the family of a female union member who died in a traffic accident. By doing this, the grassroots trade union has helped union members and families gradually overcome difficulties and rise up in life.
