Vietnam Fatherland Front has 8 remaining focal points after arrangement

The new apparatus of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has been reduced from 16 to 8 focal points after being reorganized and streamlined.

On December 30, in Hanoi, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) - chaired the Conference to announce decisions on the organization and personnel of the VFF Central Committee in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW.

Accordingly, on December 29, 2024, on behalf of the Central Executive Committee, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu signed and issued Decision No. 217-QD/TW on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

This Decision replaces Decision No. 120-QD/TW dated September 6, 2023 of the 13th Politburo on functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; effective from the date of signing.

The new apparatus of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has been reduced from 16 focal points to 8 focal points.

Regarding the organizational structure, the specialized departments and units include: Organization - Personnel Department; Democracy, Supervision and Social Criticism Department; Propaganda Department; Social Mobilization Department; Ethnic, Religious and Overseas Vietnamese Department; Agency Office.

Career unit: Dai Doan Ket Newspaper.

Organization supporting religious activities: Office of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee.

The Standing Committee establishes Advisory Councils, implements the regime of experts, seconded officers, and collaborators to serve the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Based on the organizational structure of Decision No. 217-QD/TW, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - presented the decision to the Heads of Departments and units for the appointed personnel.

The term of appointment is 5 years from 1.1.2025.

Accordingly, Ms. Nong Thi Mai Huyen - Chief of Office of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Organization and Personnel Department;

Mr. Cao Xuan Thao - Head of the Movement Committee - was appointed to the position of Head of the Social Mobilization Committee (under the new name).

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of the Organization and Personnel Department - was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Department of Ethnic Minorities, Religions and Overseas Vietnamese.

Mr. Vu Thanh Nam - Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnamese Catholic Newspaper - was transferred, appointed, and held the position of Chief of Office of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee;

Mr. Truong Thanh Trung - Editor-in-Chief of Front Magazine - was transferred, appointed, and held the position of Editor-in-Chief of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper.

Handing over the decision on personnel work according to the new organizational structure, Mr. Do Van Chien hoped that each employee needs to promote their spirit and responsibility to continue to promote a higher spirit of solidarity and unity, deploy work faster and more effectively to complete assigned tasks.
