Women are the ones who keep the fire burning for the family, the core to spread the good values of the nation
Speaking at the first "Dynamic, Creative, Responsible Female Union Members" Award Ceremony and the preliminary review and reward of the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" for the period 2020-2025 held on the evening of October 15, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister said that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh respectfully affirmed: "The river weaving of Vietnam is woven by our women, young as well as old, and is also beautiful and brilliant". The thousand-year history of our nation is a great proof of that truth. From the spirit of Hai Ba Trung, Ba Trieu to the sacrifice of female heroes of the Ho Chi Minh era such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Vo Thi Sau..., Vietnamese women have forged 8 precious golden words: "Hero, Incestuous, Middle-Qinged, East".
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh said that in today's work of building and defending the Fatherland, Vietnamese women are increasingly developing in all aspects, affirming their role, position and making great contributions in many fields:
Firstly, women are a large workforce, an important driving force for the country's growth and development. With the female participation in the workforce at 63%, it can be said that today's women are present in all fields, especially in the fields of education, healthcare, and services. Notably, the proportion of women-owned enterprises in recent years has increased significantly (accounting for about 20%) and there are 51% of Vietnamese enterprises with women in the ownership structure, much higher than in other countries.
Second, women are increasingly affirming their role and position in political life and leading and running the country. The proportion of female National Assembly delegates in the 15th National Assembly reached 30.26% (up from 26.7% in the 14th National Assembly), a high level compared to countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The role of female leaders and managers in Party and State agencies is increasingly enhanced in both quantity and quality.
Third, women are pioneers on the front of scientific research, technology and innovation. In the field of science and technology, the female intellectual community is constantly developing, many people have achieved success both at home and abroad, and have been recognized by the world through noble awards. In the period of 2019 - 2024, 601 female professors and associate professors have been recognized, accounting for 21.5% of the total number of scientists.
Fourth, women are the ones who keep the fire burning for the family and are the core to spread the good values of the nation. Women not only manage the family, care for and nurture their children but also preserve and maintain the quintessence of traditional culture; nurture, spread kindness, share love, build good moral values, create a solid support for society.
Those great contributions are an important driving force, contributing to the country overcoming countless difficulties, fluctuations and challenges to achieve comprehensive and proud achievements.

With the responsibility of "Good at public affairs": The movement has promoted thousands of breakthrough initiatives, technical improvements, and production rationalization, contributing practically to increasing labor productivity and sustainable development. Many female union members were honored today for their initiatives that have brought economic efficiency, bringing hundreds of millions to billions of VND each year to agencies and units.
With the responsibility of " Taking care of the housework", the sisters have successfully completed their civil service as wives and mothers. The union has shown practical concern, closely following the private life and health of women. 1,379 " Milk storage and circulation rooms" have been deployed at enterprises, providing practical support for female workers raising children with breast milk; more than 1 million female union members and workers have had periodic health check-ups.
" And today, we are here to honor the beautiful flowers of that movement, simple but noble examples, silent but brilliant efforts. I warmly congratulate the 10 female union members who were awarded and 20 outstanding collectives and 60 individuals who were honored today. You, each person has a situation, a job, but all shine with the will to rise up, a creative working spirit and a kind heart. You are the typical representatives of the qualities of Vietnamese women Courage, Intelligence, Humanity and Aspiration in the new era, said the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister.
Better protect the legitimate rights of female workers, especially in the informal sector
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh said that our country is entering an era of rising up, being rich, prosperous, civilized, and happy with the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous country towards the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding and the 100th anniversary of the country's founding. This great mission requires consensus and determination higher than ever, and in which the role and potential of women must be liberated and maximized. Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh suggested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, ministries and branches must consider women's work and gender equality as a key and continuous political task.
We need to resolutely eliminate all barriers and gender discrimination, ensuring a truly equal environment. We must continue to improve the legal framework, better protect the legitimate rights of female workers, especially in the informal sector. At the same time, resolutely and effectively combat domestic violence and sexual harassment; actively participate in preventing human trafficking and building effective support mechanisms for victims.
Concentrate resources on investment, completely solving basic social problems for workers, especially strongly developing social housing and building a network of high-quality kindergartens and kindergartens in industrial parks. These are key solutions for women to feel secure in their contributions.
Trade unions at all levels must strongly innovate, put women's work and women's progress at the center, identifying this as the highest responsibility of the heads of trade union organizations.
Trade unions must truly be a representative voice, increase negotiation and signing of Labor Agreements with provisions beneficial to female workers, especially in supporting health check-ups, supporting child-rearing conditions, supporting education...
Considering the discovery, fostering and introduction of outstanding female union members to planning and appointing positions as a very important task; determined to further increase the proportion of women participating in leadership and management of the country.
Organize more programs to encourage and support women to start businesses, master the economy, master technology, especially digital skills to confidently enter the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
For each female union member and worker, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh hopes that women will continue to promote the glorious and resilient tradition; always nurture in themselves great aspirations, dare to think, dare to do, dare to contribute to the Fatherland and family.
Always be confident, determine your values correctly and constantly strive to become the best version of yourself. Maintain an optimistic spirit, not being optimistic, especially in unfavorable circumstances, psychological crises, or difficult times.
Let's consider learning and improving qualifications as an inevitable journey. Knowledge and skills are the most important tools, the most effective weapons to deal with all challenges, from discrimination, violence to the strict requirements of work.
" And more importantly, know how to love and take care of your health, both physically and mentally. A beautiful compleance, a clear mind can only be formed in a healthy body. At the same time, we must proactively equip ourselves with the necessary self-defense skills to protect ourselves and our loved ones from risks," Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, our nation and country are facing great luck. The Party, State and People always have great confidence and expectations for generations of Vietnamese women.
