Meal worth 150,000 VND/meal
The Union Meal of LS Vina Power Cable and System Joint Stock Company (Hong Bang Ward) was held on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union. This is also one of the first units in the city to implement the 2025 Trade Union Meal with the highest meal value in the city.
Mr. Do Ngoc Thap - Deputy Director, Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said that the meal is worth 150,000 VND/meal, nearly 5 times higher than the normal daily shift meal of 33,000 VND/meal. An attractive menu with grilled sturgeon dishes, stir-fried buffalo meat, steamed shrimp, seafood soup... brings workers delicious, nutritious meals.
Through the Union Meal, the leaders of the unit and the Union organization listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the workers. Seeing employees eat deliciously and happily is a motivation for the company's leadership as well as the Executive Board of the Trade Union to organize more special meals for employees" - said the company's trade union representative.
It is known that in addition to the Union Meal, every month, LP Vina Cable and System Joint Stock Company organizes a special meal to thank employees at a rate of 100,000 VND/meal.
Recently, nearly 2,000 officers, union members, and employees of Horn Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Duong Industrial Park) attended the Union Meal - a special meal in 2025.
Chairwoman of the Ha Thi Hong Nhung Company Union said that each meal is worth 65,000 VND, 2.5 times higher than normal meals, including steamed shrimp, chicken thighs, soup and soft drinks, supported by the grassroots union with 40,000 VND from the union fund.
Sharing the shift meal on his personal Facebook, Mr. Vu Van Tinh, a worker at Dai workshop, excitedly said: "The leaders and unions directly came to distribute rice, sit down together to eat and chat, we were very happy, excited, and clearly felt the concern and closeness of the union to the workers. We hope that the Union Meal will be organized many times a year, so that workers can improve their shift meals and have the opportunity to chat and confide after hard working days."
About 100 grassroots unions organized union meals
The Hai Phong City Labor Federation said: This year's "Union Meal" will be held from July 20 to September 2, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union on July 28. To date, about 100 grassroots unions have been organized with the participation of tens of thousands of workers. Each meal is supported by the union and the enterprise with an additional support of 40,000-70,000 VND, increasing the value of the meal from 60,000 - 150,000 VND/meal.
From now until September 2, the City Labor Federation sets a target of 100% of grassroots unions having collective kitchens to implement the Union Meal.
According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Thuc, Trade Union Working Committee, City Labor Federation, the program is also a way for trade unions at all levels to concretize Conclusion No. 03/KL-BCH dated January 18-2022 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on improving the quality of shift meals. The City Labor Federation also directed grassroots unions to coordinate in inspecting and monitoring the quantity and quality of meals as well as food hygiene and safety factors. Leaders of the City Labor Federation and local trade unions attended, ate together with workers, listened to their thoughts and aspirations, and checked the quality of the meals.
In addition to implementing the Union Meal, the City Labor Federation also directed grassroots unions to dialogue, negotiate, and improve shift meals each year. Up to now, the average shift meal of employees in enterprises in industrial parks is 30,000 VND/meal, the quality is increasingly improved. Thereby, affirming the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of union members and employees, encouraging employees to work with peace of mind and be attached to the enterprise.
