Launching a campaign to push back drugs among workers

According to the plan, on September 18 in Hai Phong, the VGCL will launch a communication campaign to prevent and combat drugs among workers with many meaningful activities.

Each worker is a propagandist

The program "Vietnamese Workers Say No to Drugs - Million Hearts, a Determination" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security will take place at Viet Tiep Friendship Cultural Palace (Hai Phong City) for 2 main days, September 18 and 19.

The program's objective is to strongly spread the message of drug prevention and control among union members, workers and the whole society to raise awareness, responsibility and self-prevention awareness before the danger of drugs. Along with that, it contributes to preventing and repelling drug evils, protecting human resources, and ensuring security and order in industrial parks.

The planned activities bear the imprint of the Trade Union and the spirit of union members and workers, harmoniously combining propaganda and education on drug prevention and control with cultural activities, exchanges, and care for the welfare of union members and workers with the motto "Each worker is a drug prevention and control propagandist".

The key activity is a special art program and launching a campaign to prevent and combat drugs among workers taking place on the evening of September 18th at the Vietnam-Checoslovakia Friendship Labor Culture Palace Square.

At this program, the VGCL and the Ministry of Public Security officially launched the campaign "Vietnamese workers say no to drugs"; propagating the harmful effects of drugs in workers and the role and activities of the Trade Union organization in participating in the fight against and prevention of drugs to protect workers through reports, skits, exchanges...

On the morning of September 19, the "Vietnamese Workers Resolutely Say No to Drugs" festival is expected to take place with the participation of 1,500 workers from industrial parks in Hai Phong. In addition to the exchange and sharing of practical experiences in drug prevention and control for workers; the festival also takes place with many cultural and entertainment activities, games revolving around contents such as identifying drugs; the harmful effects of drugs; drug rejection skills; the role of trade unions in drug prevention and control...

Linking propaganda with care activities

Along with propaganda activities organized by the VGCL and the Ministry of Public Security in coordination, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation plans to organize a number of activities to respond to the campaign such as the "Trade Union Welfare - Accompanying Workers" space with about 50 booths, operating from September 17 to 20, providing essential goods and services at preferential prices for union members and workers.

The City Labor Federation is expected to issue 10,000 shopping vouchers to union members with a value of 200,000 VND/voucher.

On the evening of September 19, the Arts Festival "Hai Phong Workers - Belief and Aspiration" will take place, creating a space for exchange and spiritual cultural activities for workers.

Closing the series of activities, on the morning of September 20, a free eye exam and voluntary blood donation program will be organized with a scale of about 2,000 people.

Speaking at the conference to deploy the preparation work for the program, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Ngo Duy Hieu requested relevant units to consider and study the script in terms of both content, space, and time. The activities organized must be suitable for union members and workers, truly becoming a festival for union members. From there, attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate, strongly spreading the messages of the campaign "Vietnamese workers say no to drugs".

Regarding the content of welfare booths, the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour noted that the Hai Phong City Labor Federation should choose booths and goods that are suitable, essential, and meet the needs of workers; the attitude of serving union members is welcoming and enthusiastic, ensuring that workers have a fun, comfortable and complete shopping and sightseeing experience.
