On May 8, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation said that from May 7-8, the unit coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police to organize propaganda on drug prevention and control in 2026 for union members and workers of the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union and the Trade Union Board of Industrial Parks.
The conference attracted hundreds of workers and laborers to participate, focusing on contents such as new drug identification, prevention skills, methods of drug crime and regulations of the Law on Drug Prevention and Control.

According to Mr. Phan Huy Cuong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, industrial parks and areas with a large number of workers always pose a potential risk of social evils if not propagated and controlled in time.
Therefore, raising awareness for union members and workers is identified as an important solution to build a stable, civilized and safe working environment.
The Trade Union not only cares about life and jobs but also accompanies and protects union members from social risks and evils. Each worker needs to raise their vigilance, proactively say no to drugs and actively denounce violations of the law," Mr. Cuong shared.

At the conference, the reporter of Lao Cai Provincial Police also warned that many types of drugs "disguised" as food, beverages, and e-cigarettes are appearing more and more sophisticatedly, easily accessible to young people and workers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a worker working at Tang Loong Industrial Park, said that the information at the conference helped workers better identify the tricks of drug criminals today.
“Previously, I thought drugs only appeared in complex places, but now there are many disguised forms that are very dangerous. Workers working far from home like us must be even more careful,” Mr. Thanh said.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, in the coming time, trade union levels will continue to promote propaganda in many appropriate forms at enterprises and industrial parks; mobilize union members to participate in the movement to build agencies, units, and enterprises without drugs and social evils.
