Ms. Yen is a street scanner, Dong Da Branch, Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited. On April 21, Ms. Yen died in a traffic accident while maintaining environmental sanitation in Huynh Thuc Khang area, Dong Da district.
Ms. Yen's family situation is extremely difficult. Her husband was a driver at Hanoi Bus Company before, but due to poor health, he has been quitting his job for two years and is currently home alone. The couple has a nephew born in 2007, who is in grade 12.
Ms. Yen is the main breadwinner, all living expenses for the whole family and her children's education depend only on her income from her salary. Now that she has passed away, besides the irreparable pain, the family is in great difficulty.
To encourage and help Ms. Yen's husband and children overcome the immediate loss and difficulties, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu presented support of 5 million VND and a gift bag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The leaders of the City Labor Federation presented 3 million VND in support and 1 gift bag. Previously, the City Labor Federation had provided Ms. Yen's family with 10 million VND in emergency support.
Faced with the attention of the Trade Union and the company at all levels, Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh - Ms. Yen's husband - was very touched. The pain of losing his wife was shared, encouraging him and his son.
Sending condolences and encouraging Ms. Yen's husband and children, especially for Ngo Xuong Bach - son of Mr. Tuan Anh and Ms. Yen, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu hopes that Bach will turn difficulties and hardships into motivation to rise up.
"Being good and studying well is the best way to repay gratitude. In reality, many people succeed from difficulties and hardships" - Vice President Ngo Duy Hieu said.
According to Vice Chairman of VGCL, working month, month of action on occupational safety and health with the message of the whole society to take care of workers. Before the departure of Ms. Yen, the trade union levels and especially the company had practical support, including the award of scholarships to her son Yen - a diligent employee of the company, a union member responsible for the organization.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu also expressed his hope that all levels, sectors and trade union organizations need to continue to propagate and educate about compliance with traffic laws as well as take measures to protect workers in specific occupations such as environmental workers.
