Quickly adapt, no interruption of operations
Mr. Phan Manh Hung - Chairman of the Trade Union of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Bloc - informed that although it was newly established, the Trade Union of the Party Bloc has proactively received grassroots trade unions (CDCS) transferred from the Civil Servants' Trade Union and the Provincial Federation of Labor.
We clearly identify that organizational transformation is necessary to streamline the apparatus, but absolutely not to interrupt trade union activities, especially activities to care for the practical rights of union members, said Mr. Hung.
Similarly, Ms. Tu Thi Thu Hanh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Government Trade Union - emphasized that the change in organizational structure, although it poses many initial difficulties, also opens up many opportunities to improve the effectiveness of trade union activities.
The merger of many industry unions will help create synchronous strength, spread the movement and promote the spirit of learning and mutual support among grassroots unions - Ms. Hanh commented.
According to the leaders of the Trade Union of the two groups, all units give top priority to programs to care for workers.
Mr. Phan Manh Hung said that the Party Trade Union will focus on implementing activities to support workers in difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, and long-term illnesses. We are reviewing to make a list of cases that need support, and at the same time mobilizing union members to contribute to the Trade Union Social Fund, building a Trade Union Shelter, with the spirit of whoever has something to contribute - Mr. Hung shared.
Ms. Hanh said that the Government Trade Union has promptly implemented an action plan for Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health. In particular, the focus is on visiting and providing practical support to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
"We not only care about material life but also about spiritual life, through cultural activities, patriotic emulation and art - sports movements" - Ms. Hanh affirmed.
Towards sustainable development goals
One of the highlights that both units are aiming for is the movement "Each Trade Union - at least one joint activity to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses".
According to Mr. Hung, this is a profoundly humane movement, which is systematically implemented by the Party Trade Union to each grassroots level. Ms. Hanh assessed that from this movement, the spirit of solidarity and mutual support will be widely spread among the staff and union members.
Activities to care for union members' children, especially on the occasion of the Action Month for Children, are also included in the key action program by the two unions. Both Mr. Hung and Ms. Hanh said that they will closely coordinate with their profession to reward and encourage children in difficult circumstances to study well.
With the spirit of "wherever there are union members, there is a strong union organization", both union Chairmen especially emphasized the role of grassroots union officials. The grassroots trade unions are required to urgently improve their organization, issue operating regulations, and assign specific tasks to each member of the Executive Committee and the Women's Committee.
Both newly established trade unions clearly define the orientation of taking workers as the center, towards sustainable, creative and humane development in all activities.
