In the past month, Quang Ninh has had 2 more social housing projects in Ha Tu ward (former Ha Long City) and Van Don Special Zone, with a total of thousands of apartments that have completed the environmental impact assessment report, to prepare for commencement.
A few months earlier, a series of social housing projects had also been started throughout Quang Ninh province.
According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Construction, by the end of 2025, Quang Ninh had exceeded the target assigned by the Government, completing more than 2,400 social housing units, many of which have been handed over and put into use for people.
Notably, the social housing project in the Ngan Hang hill area, Ha Lam ward and Ha Long ward. This is one of the first projects in the province and has been completed and gradually handed over to people since the end of 2025.
In addition, other social housing areas serving workers in Dong Mai industrial park have also completed most of the apartments and put them into use, meeting the housing needs of the labor force in this area.
Along with the completed projects, Quang Ninh is actively implementing many large-scale projects, aiming to meet the housing needs of tens of thousands of people.
One of the outstanding projects is the social housing project in Ha Khanh - Cao Xanh urban area (former Ha Long City) with 3 apartments and about 765 apartments.
Continuing, the social housing project in Cao Xanh and Ha Lam wards is also under construction, with about 850 apartments, expected to be completed by the end of 2027. This is one of the key projects with a large scale, promising to create more quality social housing supply for the market.
Quang Ninh currently has many other projects under construction or already started, with a total number of projects in the implementation phase up to more than 18 projects with thousands of apartments.
Representatives of the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Construction said that, setting a goal to develop social housing by 2030 with a scale of nearly 18,000 units throughout the province, Quang Ninh has issued many policies to create favorable conditions for people to access social housing.
Not only attracting investment, the province also expands the beneficiaries - including those who already have private houses but are far from workplaces or armed forces - to ensure rights and improve social security.
Also according to the new policy, some large projects are appointed as investors without bidding to shorten investment preparation time, reduce paperwork and accelerate construction progress.
