The Hanoi Employment Service Center analyzed data from the Statistics Department, the Employment Department, the Institute of State Organization and Labor Science... and forecast that in the second quarter of 2026, the whole country will have 52.9 million people with jobs, an increase of 400,000 people compared to the first quarter of 2026.
At the same time, the Hanoi Employment Service Center forecasts an increase/decrease in personnel demand in some sectors.
Industry groups increasing labor demand include: Production of beds, cabinets, tables and chairs increased by 2.5%; production of motor vehicles increased by 2.1%; production of beverages increased by 1.6%.
The industry group with reduced labor demand includes: Drainage and wastewater treatment reduced by 0.19%; mining reduced by 0.16%; pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and medicinal material production reduced by 0.06%.
Previously, according to the Statistics Office, in the first quarter of 2026, the number of employed workers nationwide was 52.5 million people. Of which, the number of employed workers in urban areas was 20.6 million people; in rural areas was 31.9 million people.
The number of unemployed people of working age in the first quarter of 2026 is 786,700 people.
The average income of employees in Q1/2026 continued to improve, reaching 9 million VND/person/month.
The unemployment rate in the working age in the first quarter of 2026 is 2.21%.
