Early in the morning at Cu Bao farm (Cu Bao commune, Buon Ho town, Dak Lak province), many workers were busy harvesting durian.
Mr. Y Bor Niê (born 1997, Buon Ho town) shared: "For this year's durian crop, I signed a contract to harvest durian with Cu Bao farm. With this job, my average monthly income is from 10 - 12 million VND".
According to Mr. Y Bor Nie, with this large area of land, workers have to wake up at 5am to work until late afternoon to ensure the harvest progress.
"My family has two underage children, so almost all of our living expenses depend on my income. Therefore, I will try my best to have an additional seasonal income source for my family," Mr. Y Bor Nie added.
According to statistics, the entire Cu Bao farm has about 30 workers (all ethnic minorities) contracted to exploit nearly 75 hectares of durian. It is worth mentioning that most workers in difficult circumstances have now found jobs with stable income.
Mr. Y Vanh Nie was attentively tapping on the durian to cut the fruit, saying: "In this day and age, finding a good job with a stable income like this is not a simple matter."
According to Mr. Y Vanh Nie, young men in the area who work as hired laborers only earn about 8 million VND/month.
Being here, we feel that everyone has a high sense of responsibility. They work to ensure the progress of assigned tasks and also to increase the income for their families.
Although she is only 20 years old, H'Hong Ajun is aware that working hard is the key to escaping poverty in the near future. Since the beginning of August, H'Hong has not asked for a day off from work.
Even if overtime is required, she is still willing to work. Ms. H'Hong spends a portion of her entire salary, and saves the rest to renovate her seriously degraded house.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Tam - Director of Cu Bao Farm - shared that in addition to growing the main crops rubber and banana, we have been investing in durian trees to improve business operations. This transformation process has helped the unit create more jobs for many workers in the area, especially ethnic minorities.
"The signing of contracts with workers is carried out methodically. Workers enjoy many incentives according to current regulations. Besides, the company also considers those who do well and are productive. high to sign long-term contracts, helping them have stable jobs" - Mr. Tam shared.
Cu Bao Farm is a branch of Dak Lak Rubber Joint Stock Company (DAKRUCO). After more than 5 years of investment and reallocation of cultivated area (in addition to rubber plantation), this is the first year that Cu Bao Farm has entered the durian harvest season. Thanks to this, local workers in the area have more jobs, improving their income for themselves and their families.
