Grassroots Trade Union President directly leads the initiative movement
In recent years, Tra Bac Corporation has identified science and technology and innovation as pillars in its development strategy. From this orientation, the creative labor movement has been implemented synchronously, closely linking production and business tasks with practical efficiency.
In that movement, Mr. Dinh Van Hieu - Deputy Head of the Technical Department of Research and Development, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Bac Tea Company - is a typical face, directly leading and spreading the spirit of initiative throughout the enterprise.
With more than 28 years of attachment, Mr. Hieu deeply understands industrial electricity, directly operates and maintains transformer stations, automation systems and is regularly present at the workshop to grasp technical "bottleneck points" that arise.
Sharing about the creative labor process, Mr. Dinh Van Hieu said that he always proactively coordinates with departments, workshops, factories, and affiliated enterprises to research and propose practical technical improvement solutions.
According to Mr. Hieu, many scientific research projects at the company level have been implemented such as improving the shell structure of the kiln in the cooling area; improving the knife box at the 336-hole type 4 activated coal production line.
These topics help businesses save over 1.2 billion VND per year, while improving equipment stability, reducing technical incidents and contributing to ensuring safety during operation.
From 2020 to 2025, the initiatives of Mr. Hieu and his colleagues have contributed to removing many technical bottlenecks that have existed for many years, reducing investment costs, maintaining stable production and improving the efficiency of resource use.
Reality shows that when the Trade Union Chairman directly participates in production, the initiative movement is no longer formalistic but becomes an endogenous driving force to promote employees to actively innovate.
Spreading initiatives from businesses to trade unions
Assessing from a management perspective, Mr. Huynh Khac Nhu - General Director of Tra Bac Corporation - said that businesses always value productivity associated with the spirit of innovation, in which Mr. Dinh Van Hieu is an important bridge between leaders and employees.
According to Mr. Nhu, in terms of Trade Union work, Mr. Hieu excellently fulfilled the role of "fire keeper", not only caring for welfare but also turning the Trade Union organization into a driving force to promote production from the grassroots level.
According to Mr. Nhu, the most precious thing is the ability to unleash creative potential in each worker. Mr. Hieu is not standing outside but always pioneering, working directly with his brothers in production workshops.
That closeness helps the initiative movement at the company not stop at slogans. Under the launch and direct support, a series of technical solutions have been born, bringing clear results.
Many initiatives such as improving the technique of self-generating water vapor in the incineration furnace; CO gas burning technology; improving the steamer dust suppression system; the process of cooling condensed coconut milk has been applied synchronously.
These efforts help businesses save tens of billions of VND each year, optimize operating costs and improve competitiveness in the international market.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - assessed that the emulation movement is increasingly going deeper.
Mr. Linh said that the Provincial Labor Federation continues to launch and propagate the movement, assign targets for registering initiatives and guide trade union levels to deploy synchronously, associated with production and business tasks.
In 2025 alone, more than 1,100 individuals were rewarded at all levels; in which, 5 union members, including Mr. Dinh Van Hieu, were awarded Creative Labor Certificates by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
According to Mr. Linh, typical "initiative trees" such as Mr. Dinh Van Hieu are the core of spreading, contributing to building harmonious and progressive labor relations, creating a foundation for businesses and workers to develop sustainably together.
