On January 11, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LDLD) organized a conference to summarize trade union activities in 2025, directly combined online at 3 bridge points in Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh (before the merger), with more than 500 delegates attending.
In 2025, Vinh Long Trade Union continued to affirm its role in representing and protecting workers with many outstanding results: developing an additional 30,024 union members, establishing 84 new grassroots trade unions, raising the total number of managed union members to more than 170,000 people; and at the same time supporting the construction and repair of 99 "Trade Union Homes" and "Medical Industry Homes", reaching 247.5% of the target, disseminating laws to more than 175,000 union members, reaching 111.8% of the plan....
At the conference, delegates focused on presenting and enthusiastically discussing the theme of work in 2026: "Promoting innovation; concretizing and bringing the Resolutions of the Party Congress, Fatherland Front, and Trade Union into life", and at the same time contributing opinions to adjust 12 system targets and propose implementation solutions suitable to grassroots practices.
In addition, delegates assessed the substance of emulation movements associated with production labor, the registration of initiatives and technical improvements; and discussed personnel work after mergers, proposing to improve the quality of grassroots trade union officials, soon complete regulations, and clearly assign responsibilities at units.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province - highly appreciated the efforts of Trade Union levels in the context of arranging the organizational structure and operating the two-level local government model. She affirmed that the successful organization of Trade Union Congresses at all levels and the First Provincial Trade Union Congress showed steadfast organization, contributing to the effective implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
Ms. Nhung requested Trade Unions at all levels to strengthen forecasting, grasp and promptly resolve labor relations arising at enterprises, maintain security and order, and prevent layoffs and strikes; and at the same time focus on improving the quality of grassroots trade union officials, equipping them with practical skills, and consolidating the trust of workers.
Stepping into 2026, Ms. Nhung expects Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union to continue to innovate and create, build a smooth connection channel from the province to the grassroots level, promote the tradition of discipline of the working class, strive to complete and exceed targets, and contribute to building a strong political system and sustainable socio-economic development.
Speaking at the closing of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - acknowledged and fully absorbed the contributed opinions, and at the same time thoroughly grasped and absorbed the directing opinions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Linh emphasized that 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress and Trade Union Congresses at all levels, requiring trade union levels to focus on concretizing the resolution into practice, innovating propaganda work, promoting digital transformation, and building "Digital Trade Unions".
The Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation proposed to strengthen collective dialogue and negotiation, protect the rights of workers; prioritize taking care of the Lunar New Year, implement long-term welfare, and at the same time continue to consolidate organization, develop union members, improve regulations, and manage transparent finances.
