Nearly 50 union officials from southern provinces and cities attended a conference to disseminate policies and laws on social insurance organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the afternoon of October 10 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Le Dinh Quang - Deputy Head of the Policy and Law Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that current laws assign many important rights and responsibilities to trade union organizations. To effectively perform the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Trade Union, each trade union official must have a firm grasp of labor law regulations, including the Law on Social Insurance.
At the same time, in the coming time, the authorities will also develop 11 decrees (of which the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is assigned to develop 7 decrees) to guide the Law on Social Insurance 2024, which was passed by the National Assembly and took effect from July 1, 2025.
Mr. Quang hopes that trade union officials with their knowledge and practical experience will contribute ideas to build decrees guiding the 2024 Social Insurance Law.
At the conference, union officials listened to Mr. Tran Hai Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Social Insurance of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs - introduce the provisions of the Social Insurance Law 2024, focusing on the new contents of the Social Insurance Law 2024 and the rights and responsibilities of trade union organizations stipulated in the law.
