A recent report by the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center shows that from the beginning of the year to the end of May 2025, this center has received 50,831 cases of application for unemployment benefits.
The number of applications for unemployment benefits has decreased by 9,133 (down 15.23%) compared to the same period in 2024,
Also during the above period, the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center coordinated with vocational training institutions to advise on vocational training support for workers receiving unemployment benefits.
At the same time, the center has advised the Department of Home Affairs to sign and issue 875 decisions to support vocational training for workers receiving unemployment benefits.
Compared to the number of cases applying for unemployment benefits, the number of people receiving vocational training support is still low, accounting for only 1.72%.
This shows that the vast majority of people applying for unemployment benefits only focus on receiving this benefit instead of vocational training to quickly reintegrate into the labor market.
