According to statistics from the Hai Phong Center for Employment Service and Meritorious Nursing, in the first 5 months of 2025, the total number of people applying for unemployment benefits is estimated at 7,170 people, down 10.58% over the same period. Of which, the center received and processed 6,868 online records on the City Administrative Procedure Information System and the National Public Service Portal, reaching a rate of 95.78%.
Of the 7,170 subjects, the total number of people with unemployment benefits decided to receive unemployment benefits is 5,280 people, down 23.51% over the same period; 150 people have temporarily stopped receiving unemployment benefits, down 44.24% over the same period and 40 people continue to receive unemployment benefits at 50 people, down 43.82% over the same period.
The center completed the dossier to terminate unemployment benefits for 8,120 employees, down 4.71% over the same period. The total amount of unemployment benefits is 162.6 billion VND, down 12.73% over the same period.
Along with resolving unemployment insurance policies, the Hai Phong Employment Service and Nursing Center for Meritorious People organized vocational training consultation for 6,500 workers receiving unemployment benefits.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - Head of the Employment Introduction Consulting Department - said that the center is currently maintaining free training classes for workers receiving unemployment insurance, with a duration of 3 to 6 months. In particular, foreign language training courses in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean focus on foreign language communication skills for workers, learning at times suitable for their needs, combining two forms of in-person and online learning in parallel. For example, Chinese language training courses have been implemented with 9 courses with the participation of hundreds of workers. Many workers after 3 sessions have been able to communicate basically and find suitable jobs after completing the course.
Grasping the current labor market trend, the Center also opens personal makeup training classes, beverage mixing, food processing, classes on sewing fashion, industrial sewing... for workers, especially female workers. Every year, more than 1,000 workers complete free training courses, many of whom have quickly found suitable new jobs with stable income, said Ms. Thanh.
The center organized 26 job fairs in the first 5 months of 2025 with the participation of 310 businesses, such as recruiting 82,740 workers. Through the trading sessions, nearly 50,000 workers were consulted and introduced to jobs, of which more than 8,600 workers were pre-recruited and had new job opportunities.
