According to information from Gia Vien Ward People's Committee, at about 22:50 on October 31, at the construction site No. 06B, Lot 30A, New Urban Area, Intersection 5 - Cat Bi Airport, a work accident occurred during construction.
The cause of the work accident was that during the construction process, concrete was poured on the 2nd floor, causing the floor to collapse, causing 2 workers to be stuck inside the project, Mr. D.D.H and Mr. P.V.D (from Cam Thuy restaurant, Thanh Hoa). As a result, both workers died. Another worker, Mr. L.T.Q (Hoa Binh ward, Hai Phong city), suffered injuries to his leg.
Previously, in early 2025, at the May Chai bridge project site, a work accident also occurred, causing a male worker to tragically die.
According to the report on the socio-economic situation in the first 10 months of 2025 of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, in the first 10 months, there were 20 work accidents in the area, killing 20 people. The main areas of labor accidents are construction, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, and metal smelting. Strict control from the licensing stage

Units proactively review, inspect, and strictly manage projects and construction works assigned by departments, branches, sectors, and commune-level People's Committees as investors; seriously fulfill the responsibilities of investors, promptly rectify, suspend, and strictly handle violations. At the same time, step up inspection and supervision of units and enterprises operating in sectors and fields at high risk of fatal labor accidents, such as: Construction, mechanics, metal smelting, transportation and port services, construction materials production, transportation and electricity supply. From there, review and strictly handle violations of occupational safety and hygiene; promptly commend collectives and individuals who have performed well, have many solutions and initiatives in occupational safety and hygiene.
